Sex & Nudity

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Francine is an alcoholic and is seen heavily drinking alcohol for much of the film.
  • Several instances of drug use throughout, most notably glue-sniffing and snorting cocaine.
  • In two scenes, a character can be seen with a joint (these scenes are undetailed). There are two additional instances where it is implied that characters have snorted drugs.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Contains suicide, abortion, alcoholism and mental breakdown themes. Much of the film is satirically melodramatic and contains some concepts and themes that may be considered extreme by some viewers. For example, a pregnant teenager punches herself in order to cause a miscarriage. Some characters (unsuccessfully) attempt suicide.

  • A teenage girl (after becoming pregnant) attempts to induce a miscarriage by punching and slapping herself. The scene is over-the-top and played for comedy, but it may be upsetting.
  • A teenage girl attempts suicide by suffocating on gas fumes (she survives, but suffers a miscarriage as a result). The scene is over-the-top, but may be shocking.
  • A woman is strangled to death using macrame. The scene is clearly comedic and played for laughs.
  • Two characters are shot and killed, and another is shot but survives.
  • A man and woman are both hit by a car and killed.
