Cold Case: The Woods (2005)
Has to be the best episode of the series
I'm not an avid watcher of this show but I caught this episode on last week after midnight on the TNT Network. And I must say I could not turn it off, I like when the killers are smart and basically admit that they did it but cannot be fingered for the crime because of loop wholes in the law. I think the acting was great especially the guest appearance of John Billingsley who played George Marks (the suspect) If you like this show I'd strongly suggest catching this episode if you haven't already.
I checked the spoiler alert because I did not catch it from the beginning, I don't know if I gave anything away that was not disclosed at the beginning. (Better to be safe than sorry)
Thanks,
Scott
Warm Bodies (2013)
What a bad movie
Even though the acting was good, (I Love Teresa Palmer and John Malcovich)this was just a horrible movie in my opinion. Just the premise of the movie was awful, Its basically a zombie movie meets twilight, I mean really? I can't believe as many people liked this movie- I couldn't even watch it all the way through, I skipped around to see if there was any kind of problem that arises in the plot but it was basically: so a girl real living girl falls in love with a rotten dead corpse (and no I'm not talking about Anna Nichole Smith) Do your research before you think "Well Teresa Palmer is hot and I like zombie movies" like I did because chances are you will be HIGHLY disappointed.
Thanks For Reading.
The Boondock Saints (1999)
One of my Top 10 Favorite movies For sure.
I went to a Catholic all Male grade school in Cincinnati, Ohio. My first year of College (University of Dayton) I saw Boondock Saints alone in my Dorm. This was in 2005 almost 7 years after It had been released. I had heard the name mentioned a couple times in high school but never had the opportunity to watch it. Then finally a buddy of mine down the hall on the same floor of my dorm gave me the DVD and told me to watch it when I got bored. Its got everything I look for in a good movie, I'm typically into some kind of Action movie such as martial arts of shoot-em up genres. But at the same time don't mind a good drama, and Comic relief is a MUST. Boondock Saint covered almost everything I could want in a top 5 Film. I think that Sean Patrick Flanery and Norman Reedus did excellent as the main characters and Willem Dafoe's Character is brilliant. I instantly fell in love, Its got incredible acting, good character development, an amazing message, and the ending will have the hair on your arms standing up first time you watch it.
I'm by no stretch of the imagination a film critic but I have been wanting to write Reviews for some of my Favorite movies, and I've been known to write a review or 2 for movies that I was Highly disappointed in.
Compliance (2012)
Was not good for my BP, Had my blood boiling with furiousness
I started by skipping around and reading some of the previous 105 Reviews on this Title. I am Pretty much just writing this to Agree with what I had seen in the other reviews. The film was well made for the most part, acting wasn't too bad, the Chicken/Fast Food Joint they worked at actually did a great job of portraying that type of environment. But me personally I don't think I've ever been so MAD at a movie (Even madder than the most recent Funny Games which is a psychological thriller and is designed to get that kind of response from you), like the Characters are just sooooooo stupid the manager has to have an IQ of maybe 12- And the poor girl who is the victim does nothing to help her situation She knows she didn't do it there is no way That could get that far in real life. I couldn't help but put myself in her shoes and think about how bad I would beat the people in the office who were trying to search me. I WAS shocked to see that this was all based on a true story and actually looked it up online and found that this was done over 60 times by seemingly the same Perpetrator.
It may be worth watching Once because of how bazaar the film is- I watched it alone and I was literally screaming at the TV. I think If you watched it with someone who you could share your opinion with could possibly be a plus.
Rome (2005)
Don't see the minor historical inaccuracies to take away from the film at all.
I think the acting is great and I love the old Stories of the Roman Empire. I have only watched the first season by I don't think the historical inaccuracies I keep hearing about are anything Major. The worst one I saw was that Julius Ceaser had no time in the first season to adopt this nephew, Octavian, who later becomes Augustus and Leads the Roman Empire on his own.
All and I enjoy shows like this and Spartacus. I think HBO makes the best Series Game of Throwns, Deadwood, Boardwalk empire. also Starz does well with Spartacus and ShoTime with Weeds, and Dexter.
Sorry about the spoilers I hope this helps.
The Final Destination (2009)
Horrible Acting, Bad Deaths, No Story line from the get go.
Wow, maybe they thought since they were making it in 3d they didn't need all the petty stuff like acting or story line. I loved the first and second Final Destination movies. the third was not very good in my eyes but I could at least respect the ideas. This movie was almost painful to watch after seeing the other titles of this franchise. The main character is very unlikable- scratch that all the characters are unlikable, not to mention HORRIBLE Actors. From the very first scene I could tell it was going to be a bad movie but I didn't imagine it was going to be THIS bad. Feel like I wasted 80 minutes of my life. I never write reviews but I figured I would warn some people about how bad this one really is.
