Running away from war, only to find it elsewhere.

Warning: Spoilers
A group of confederates soldiers, all deserters (including an officer), decide to run away as far as they can, dealing with the elements of the Everglades, Seminole Indians and their own sanity in their efforts to get to Cuba. Rattlesnakes, alligators, storms and quicksand, and not an ocean in sight. This is pretty well made, in a cheaper form of color film, and with a completely obscure cast, but all the elements are there to make for a very watchable film.

Apparently, the hurricane they dealt with was really happening at the time, so some of the stunts were obviously really dangerous. One of the men is crushed by a tree, thought dead, but springs back to life. He does that again when they're camping out at night, angry because they didn't bring along his booze. The battle with the Seminoles is another highlight as is the shocking sinking of one of them. These men show their cowardice very realistically when their fears get the better of then. Too bad that there's not one familiar face in the cast, but overall, the acting is pretty good.
