One of the things this show did best are the one on one conversations the characters would have to reveal their true feelings. They took it to another level in this episode as they all pair up riding to join Jay for his favorite sandwich.
Luke gets a medal for putting a fire out that he starts causing conflict between him and Manny . Gloria is jealous that Jay confides in a waitress instead and f her. Mitchell and Phil have a misunderstanding about work Mitchell did for Phil at Phil's work. Mitchell finding out he's not as well regarded as he thinks he should be be Phil's co works. Rounding out the tension is Claire and Cam's differing views on parenting.
