I guess we should have written William Shatner's character long ago. Unlike The Practice, most of this show is about the silly relationship between Alan and Denny. Crane does so many outrageous things that it's laughable--but that's what they want us to do--laugh. We start with Denny's wedding where he is unfaithful within three hours. The actual court case is a wrongful termination of a woman because she has a smoking habit. It has a sad conclusion.
