"One can't love and do nothing."
15 June 2020
This was very good, I've seen it a couple of times now. An adaption of Graham Green's semi autobiographical 1951 novel about a novelist (Ralph Fiennes) who falls in love with his friend (Stephen Rea's) wife during WW2 in London and is subsequently haunted by the abrupt end of their relationship. Eventually his jealousy and obsession get the better of him and he hires a detective to have her (Julianne Moore) followed to find out why.

Excellent period piece with brilliant performances from all three actors in this love triangle. A twist of a story in regards to why she left him -I didn't see that coming and it made sense. The affair is shown exclusively in flashbacks. Clever use of dialogue and I also liked how they showed the same scene, repeating it from a different perspective. Very good.
