The beginning plot was a decent start to this episode. A simple rescue mission to save Rya'c, Teal'c's son, from Apophis. To me the most interesting item was that Rya'c has been brainwashed by Apophis, which resulted in him running from the SG-1 good guys to Apophis' guards for protection. This feeling of betrayal that Rya'c had was later continued as a simple plot set up by Apophis to release a deadly bioweapon into earth through Rya'c. Rather than facing the brainwashing head on and exploring how that changes Teal'c, the writers come up with the horrendous solution of ECT to 'cure' Rya'c of brainwashing. ECT does not work like that. Not even sort of. The episode missed its chance of creating a provocative change in Teal'c to instead just have a sappy happy ending.
The side thing with Teal'c's wife is kinda meh, though it could also help change Teal'c as a character.
