In the center square, who else but Paul Lynde...

Today's weird movie! You'd be forgiven if you didn't see this in theaters back in 1993, or even at home in the ensuing 26 years. Talk about a cult classic. Alex Winter, a couple years after the second Bill & Ted movie, codirected and cowrote this comedy-horror mashup about a super-vain star who's sent to South America to promote a toxic chemical - but he instead stumbles upon a freak show run by Randy Quaid and is quickly turned into a hideous monster himself. The other freaks are priceless, played by people like Mr. T, John Hawkes, Bobcat Goldthwait, and (uncredited) Keanu Reeves. There are plenty of truly hilarious moments in the film, and the makeup-costume work is just amazing. This needs to be seen be more people. If you like quirky, wacked-out junk, you gotta find yourself a copy of this. It's amazing.
