Lovely Molly (2011)

Not so Lovely

Warning: Spoilers
I really don't mind a slow starting horror film that takes some time to build up suspense - if it makes it worth your effort. Lovely Molly does not. I should start with the positives - the cinematography is okay, and the acting wasn't terrible (nor was it good mind)and I actually liked the first 45 mins or so. Now to the bad...

For a start the title confuses me, I don't think anyone refers to her as lovely in the entire film. It wouldn't be hard to fit that in, but that isn't that important. What is important is an ending, too many people are putting out films with beginnings, middles and scary music but NO ENDING. There are so many unanswered questions... Why does it happen? Is her dad there? What did he do to them when they were young? Abuse? Whats with the horse heads? Or the weird tree man at the end? Why biting? Is it all in her head? Why would a priest go down on her.... so strange. It is really infuriating that there is not even a hint of an answer to these questions. If you literally can't think of a single thing to do with your time than watch an uninteresting, unconvincing, open-ended weird horror (using the term in its loosest possible way) then I would grab the popcorn and get cracking. Other than that - don't bother watching it.
