In what may be one of Disney's best-matched castings to date, Reese Witherspoon is to play Tinker Bell in a new film.
Tink, which will focus on the story of Peter Pan's fairy companion, is the latest classic from the animation studio to be given the live-action treatment.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Witherspoon will also produce the feature alongside Bruna Papandrea, her partner at production banner Pacific Standard.
Finding Dory writer Victoria Strouse is currently penning the script, but as yet there is no director attached to the project.
The movie is thought to be following in the footsteps of Disney's Sleeping Beauty spin-off Maleficent in that it will portray the untold story of the lead character.
The studio is currently producing a live-action Beauty and the Beast (starring Emma Watson) and is also developing similar adaptations of classics Dumbo, Pinocchio and Winnie the Pooh.
