Pop star Shakira is finally coming out with a new album after a long seven-year gap. The Hips Don’t Lie star is currently promoting her 16-track album Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran or Women No Longer Cry. The artist reportedly intends for the album to be empowering, enabling women to rediscover their strengths and build bridges between people.
While Shakira sought to empower women with her new album, she reportedly had some strong opinions about last year’s Barbie. The pop star mentioned that her sons found the film to be ‘emasculating’ and that she agreed with the same. Fans slammed the singer for her statement on the movie as she joined a few more celebrities who bashed the film for similar reasons.

Gerard Piqué is a football icon, known as much for his defensive skills as he is for his relationship with the pop sensation, Shakira. The two of them represented the best of both worlds and came together to set relationship goals for many.

It came down to the footballer’s infidelity, and the pop star has received overwhelming support from her fans and colleagues alike. When life gives you lemons, you have to make lemonade - and that's exactly what Shakira did after heartbreak. When the Colombian pop star learned in 2022 that Gerard Piqué, her partner of 11 years and the father of her two sons, was cheating on her, I'm sure it felt as if her life was falling apart. But when she couldn't bear the pain and the betrayal, she did what most musicians do - she turned it into art.
The first song Shakira released that was directly related to the breakup was 2022's "Te Felicito" with Puerto Rican Latin trap artist Rauw Alejandro. The song not only marked Shakira's comeback, it was also the first in a string of singles that would display her healing journey to the world and eventually become part of her latest highly anticipated album, "Las Mujeres Ya no Lloran," which was released on March 22.

Scooter Braun’s manager era may be coming to an end. “All of Scooter Braun’s clients are under contract and negotiations have been going on for several months” as Braun focuses more on his Hybe role, the source says.

Let it go: Idina Menzel is no longer being managed by Scooter Braun.
A source close to the Tony-winning star tells The Hollywood Reporter she parted ways with the talent manager in January after announcing in 2019 that she’d signed with him.
The past few days have been dramatic for Braun: News of Demi Lovato parting ways with the talent manager broke Monday, and last week Puck News reported that Justin Bieber was looking for new management. Shortly after, Braun’s team said the report was false. Rumors about Ariana Grande leaving the manager after a decade bubbled online this week, and J Balvin parted ways with Braun in May.

Demi Lovato has parted ways with talent manager Scooter Braun, with whom she signed in 2019.
Billboard reports that Lovato is seeking new management after splitting with Braun last month. Representatives for the singer and Braun didn’t immediately reply to The Hollywood Reporter’s requests for comment.
Braun’s Sb Projects manages Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Ozuna, Dan + Shay and Ava Max, among others. The news comes days after Puck News reported that Bieber was looking for new management; shortly after the story broke, Braun’s team said the report was false.
J Balvin parted ways with Braun in May, after signing with the manager in 2019.
Under Braun’s direction, Lovato released 2021’s Dancing With the Devil…the Art of Starting Over and 2022’s Holy Fvck. Both albums struggled to launch a hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. She was previously managed by Phil McIntyre of PhilyMack.

They often say that changes come in waves. Puerto Rico has an interesting relationship with change, from our colonial status remaining mostly unchanged since 1917 to new condos popping up throughout San Juan. And yet, our music is always changing, with new sounds not so much evolving from previous genres but bursting out of the collective ether to not only create change but give it a voice. From bomba y plena to the salsa of the '70s to reggaetón, the island's musical history has been defined by innovation. And with his debut EP, Puerto Rican artist Pink Pablo is set to become the face of a new musical tradition - one that breaks from the conventions of everything that came before.
"The way that I do music, I don't even think of the genre that I'm making. I just flow."

Karol G's New "Mañana Será Bonito (Bichota Season)" Is Drastically Different From the Original Album
There seems to be a subtle shift going on in reggaetón as of late. While 2022 and early 2023 saw the genre embrace a kind of eclectic, cross-genre experimentation (most visibly championed on Bad Bunny's critically acclaimed album "Un Verano Sin Ti"), the tail end of this year has seen the pendulum shift toward simplicity and a focus that characterized reggaetón's earlier years. Maybe it's due to the rise of the alt-perreo genre and experimentally inclined artists like RaiNao and Pink Pablo. Or maybe the recent resurgence of old-school artists like Chencho, Maldy, Jowell & Randy, and Tego Calderón has added a healthy dose of nostalgia to the zeitgeist. But regardless of the specific catalyst, many of today's most popular reggaetoneros are harkening back to the genre's roots. With her latest album, "Mañana Será Bonita (Bichota Season)," Karol G trades in the upbeat pop-reggaetón sound that characterized the original "Mañana Será Bonita" for...

Last summer, as Bad Bunny wrapped his "Un Verano Sin Ti" concerts with back-to-back shows in San Juan, Puerto Rico, at the Coliseo, he brought out several special guests - including fellow Puerto Rican artists Tommy Torres, Villano Antillano, and Young Miko. And on the third and final night of the tour, he shared the stage with RaiNao (whose real name is Naomi Ramírez). It was a full-circle moment for the rising indie artist because it came only weeks after Bad Bunny (real name Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasio) shared that he had been listening to RaiNao's song "Luv" all summer long. While performing alongside the No. 1 artist in the world was a significant moment in RaiNao's musical career - one she shares she will always be grateful for - the proudly queer singer and songwriter was already making a name for herself in Puerto Rico's alt-perreo scene following her debut EP,...

Ibai Llanos has rewritten the Twitch record books once again. The Spanish streamer drew more than 3.4 million concurrent viewers for La Velada Del Año III, the latest in a series of influencer boxing events.
The third edition of La Velada Del Año (which translates to “The Night of the Year”) took place at Madrid’s Civitas Metropolitano stadium, where 70,000 fans showed up to watch a series of fights and musical performances.
Ibai’s seven-hour stream of the event included appearances from top Hispanic creators and artists. YouTuber Fernanfloo won a close contest against gamer Luzu, Mexican streamer Samy “Rivers” Rivera participated in two matches, and Puerto Rican megastar Ozuna delivered a headlining musical performance. The main card proved to be a bit anticlimactic, as Chilean YouTube legend Germán Garmendia lasted less than two rounds against the big punches of his Argentinian opponent Coscu.
The event was not without its hiccups.

When the Puerto Rican singer Omar Courtz was a teenager, he spent some time working at a clothing store in the city of Carolina that became popular among reggaeton stars. He’d see some of his biggest inspirations coming in and out of the shop, which was called Change: people like Farruko, Anuel Aa, and Ozuna. Years later, when he started making music, he wound up collaborating with a few of those same artists. “I was like, ‘I used to be your attendant at that store!’” recalls Courtz, 25.

Attorneys for numerous artists from Luis Fonsi and Anitta to Pitbull and Karol G are responding to a lawsuit that claims that hundreds of reggaeton songs infringed the copyright of one reggae track from 1989. They want the lawsuit tossed.
The original case, filed by Jamaican duo Steely & Clevie in 2021, claims that nearly 2,000 songs have sampled and interpolated the reggae track “Fish Market” since its release.
On Thursday, 107 of the more than 150 musicians named as defendants filed three motions asking a judge to dismiss the case, according to documents obtained by Dancehall Mag.

Despite the significant challenges they've faced in a male-dominated industry, Latina music artists are thriving. Karol G recently made history with her fourth album, "Mañana Será Bonito," which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts No.1. And Shakira has had an epic year of back-to-back recording-breaking hits, including her viral diss track "Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions #53."
In celebration of Latinas' success in music, Billboard and Telemundo have partnered for Billboard's first-ever Mujeres en La Música event, which honors Latin women in Spanish music. The inaugural event will take place on May 6 at the Watsco Center in Miami but airs on May 7 on Telemundo.
Reggaeton legend Ivy Queen, who received this year's Icon Award at Billboard's 2023 Women in Music event, will be cohosting the event alongside television personality Jacqueline Bracamontes.
Leila Cobo, Billboard's chief content officer for Latin/Español, says the inaugural event serves as an expansion of Billboard's Women in Music franchise.

It's been a year since Manuel Turizo's hit single "La Bachata" went viral, and the Colombian singer hasn't slowed down since. This March, he released his highly anticipated third studio album, "2000." The LP beautifully captures what the 23-year-old artist has become famous for - exploring different sounds and genres.
"I love to try different things. Each time I go to the studio and I'm looking for a single, I try to find what else I can do in music - what else can I show to the people in music," Turizo tells Popsugar. The Latin Grammys are arguably the highest recognition in Hispanic music around the world. This year the award show will likely host some of the biggest and most acclaimed Latin stars. With names like Shakira, Karol G, and Rauw Alejandro all in the mix, who will nab some noms come nomination’s day?
The biggest name in Latin music right now is Karol G. The Colombian singer has made history with her album “Mañana Será Bonito” becoming the first all-Spanish album by a female artist to top the Billboard 200. She is already a two-time Latin Grammy winner, and since she’s likely the biggest urban music star of the season, it’s likely she picks up a couple of awards in the field. However, I don’t know whether she will be able to take home a general field award. Bad Bunny couldn’t last year, and his album was...
