In the years since the Cold War, during which the Soviet Union engineered a team of superheroes under the Patriot programme, the Iron Curtain has fallen and the subjects have gone into hiding outside of the new Russian border. When one of Patriot’s founding members resurfaces years later and uses his abilities to hijack a number of advanced paramilitary robots, Major Elena Larina (Valeriya Shkirando) is tasked with reuniting the estranged teammates. Comprising Ler Landman (Sebastien Sisak), a monk with the ability to control mountains; Ursus (Anton Pampushnyy), a were-bear who can transform at will; Khan Windman (Sanzhar Madiyev), a martial artist capable of teleportation; and Xenia Waterwoman (Alina Lanina), an invisible woman who can walk on water, Patriot aims to stop August Kuratov (Stanislav Shirin) from taking over the world.

One more trailer for this crazy awesome Russian superhero action movie titled Guardians, or Zashchitniki (Защитники) in Russian. We've previously featured two different trailers for this movie, but this final one might be the best yet. At the very least, it's packed with action - and this action is seriously impressive. I might go see this just for the action scenes alone, even if they're totally CGI, they still look cool. The plot is about a "Patriot" program that created a superhero squad, which included members of multiple soviet republics. There's a psychopath who wields sleek curved swords, a telekinetic, an invisible witch, and the most badass one of all, a massive "Werebear" wielding a minigun. Starring Valeriya Shkirando, Sanzhar Madiyev, Alina Lanina, Anton Pampushnyy, Sebastien Sisak & Vyacheslav Razbegaev. Fire it up. Here's the final official trailer for for Sarik Andreasyan's Guardians, or Zashchitniki, found on YouTube: You can...

Marvel and DC don’t have a lock on superheroes.
The Russians have their own. And they call themselves the Guardians.
A trailer has been making its way on the Internet from Russia that promotes a team of superheroes battling military soldiers and tanks.
They have their own version of an Invisible Woman and a Winter Soldier look-alike with a sickle. But, one character really is noticeable—a giant-sized bear that can shoot and kill.
Granted, I don’t know what’s going on since I don’t speak Russian. It looks like a fun action movie from the international community (or it could end up like South Korea’s D-wars if you remember that).
Here are details on these superhero:
Arsus – Has an ability to transform into half-man, half-bear. Not only that, he can transform into full bear mode. Whoa.
Ler – Has the ability to manipulate rocks. He can...

There's been a lot of excitement online for the upcoming Russian superhero film Guardians. The movie looks absolutely batshit crazy, and we have an incredibly fun final trailer for it that you can watch today.
Up to this point, we've only seen brief glimpses of the heroic team in the film. But this trailer offers a ton of new footage of them in crazy cool action fighting alongside each other as they try to take down a powerful villain.
Set during the Cold War, a secret organization named "Patriot" gathered a group of Soviet superheroes, altering and augmenting the DNA of four individuals, in order to defend the homeland from supernatural threats.
The group includes representatives of the different nationalities of the Soviet Union, which each one of them have long been hiding their true identity. In hard times, they settled down to business and gather to defend their homeland.

Director Saric Andreasyan's Guardians (Aka “Zaschitniki,” or “The Defenders”) is set for release next month, and we have one final trailer for you guys to take a look at. Up until now we've only had brief glimpse of the team (a rock-man, a sword-wielding speedster and a fearsome were-bear among them) in action, but this gives us a proper look at them uniting to take on a powerful supervillain. The CGI isn't great, but this still looks pretty impressive. Check it out, and let us know what you think in the usual place. During the Cold War, a secret organization “Patriot” has created a squad of superheroes, which included participants from various Soviet republics. For years, the heroes had to hide their identity, but in hard times, they again take the case. Guardians stars Anton Pampushny, Sanjar Madiev, Sebastian Sisak, Alina Lanina, Stanislav Shirin, Valery Shkirando, Vyacheslav Razbegaev, Alexander Semenov,...

The last trailer for Guardians (Aka “Zaschitniki,” or “The Defenders”) was pretty cool, but was let down by some horrendous dubbing. This latest teaser dispenses with the dialogue altogether (there is still a slightly cheesy voiceover), and features some brand new footage of the Russian superhero team - a rock-man, a sword-wielding speedster and a fearsome were-bear among them - uniting to take on a faceless enemy. This latest trailer for Guardians (Aka “Zaschitniki,” or “The Defenders”) contains plenty of new footage from the Russian superhero movie, and sees team - a rock-man, a sword-wielding speedster and a fearsome were-bear among them - uniting to take on a faceless enemy. If you can ignore the horrendous English dubbing and the occasional dodgy patch of CGI, this actually looks pretty cool.
