Gilbert Gottfried is crashing AMC's “Small Town Security.” On the next episode of the quirky reality, Christa Stephens is out for a night on the town when she runs into the comedic actor. After a round of late night of cocktails and ribs, Christa gets the courage to ask Gottfried to be a guest host on Joan Koplan aka the Chief's Public Access TV show. The only problem is no one can find the Chief. See video: AMC's ‘Small Town Security': What Happens When Cameras Aren't Rolling? As a result, Gottfried gets a little suspicious. Find out why in TheWrap's exclusive preview above.

Could there be another side to the cast of AMC's “Small Town Security”? As the series approaches its third season on Tuesday, AMC has released fun new takes on what may go down when the cameras aren't rolling. For example, Chief Joan Koplan, who reflects on her younger self. Or Lieutenant Dennis Starr, who is captured on the other side of a wild night. And Joan's husband, Irwin Koplan, who actually messes up his office before anyone else knows otherwise. Watch the videos below. Read AMC's description for Season 3 below: In the new season of “Small Town Security,” the unorthodox universe of Jjk.

AMC has offered ShockYa an exclusive clip from ‘All Hands on Deck,’ tonight’s episode of its reality series, ‘Small Town Security.’ The seventh episode from the show’s second season airs at 11/10c on the basic cable network. ‘All Hands on Deck’ follows Capt. Starr and his force as they work at a rave; Irwin overhauling Joan’s local show; and the Chief adding a new dimension to the office love triangle. The clip features Bret Tacular, a Bret Michaels impersonator, as he’s interviewed on the ‘Joan Koplan Variety Hour,’ the public access talk show of the Jjk Security Chief. The show also includes a cooking segment with Cal Haygood a worker [ Read More ]

What does the gang at Jjk Security do when they’re just driving around? Talk about fake penises, of course. The complicated relationship between Dennis Starr (formerly known as Dennis Croft) and boss-woman Joan Koplan has always been a hot topic on AMC’s Small Town Security — and things are about to get even hotter on the reality series. Celebuzz has an...Read more»...

The cat's out of the bag when AMC's "Small Town Security" returns for its second season on Thursday. Apparently, Season 1 had some Ringgold, Ga. residents hopping mad over how the town was portrayed. Thankfully, Queen Bee Joan Koplan doesn't really care. "People are entitled to their opinion," she said of the controversy. "But shut up already, it's not a porno movie." See photos: 'Small Town Security' Season 2 Cast Photos (Exclusive) Well said, Joan. If you haven't seen the series, it follows Koplan and her team at Jjk Security. They're quirky, have some...

The harsh reality of “reality TV” is that once your life (and your community) get exposed to the cameras, there’s probably going to be some backlash.
Season 2 of AMC’s Small Town Security — which focuses on the eclectic employees of Jjk Security in Ringgold, Ga — explores that very theme, as Chief Joan Koplan and her cohorts find their newfound fame (and salty language) aren’t always appreciated by the residents of their conservative Southern town. “People are entitled to their opinion,” notes Joan. ”But shut up already, it’s not a porno movie.”

Stuck with 90 minutes to fill the other night, I caught up on the latest show from AMC, Small Town Security. Three episodes in, I was damn impressed. It wasn’t the standard fare of aiming a camera at an odd segment of life – Cajun alligator hunters, Alaskan truckers, Sasquatch lumberjacks – and just letting the freak flags fly.
Small Town Security had complex characters, represented in a sophisticated way. It’s more about the unique folks that populate Jjk Security than it is about, well, caricatures of small town rent-a-cops. Setting is secondary. The brush isn’t broad. True to form for the potent AMC production team, even seamy reality TV is handled with an exquisite hand.
That’s not to say Small Town Security isn’t outlandish. I had a difficult time accepting that it was reality. It scans more like a Christopher Guest film, balancing the bizarre with the sentimental.

Conceptually, AMC's new unscripted series "Small Town Security," which premieres Sunday, July 15, is about the colorful characters and activity inside Jjk Security, a company based in Ringgold, Ga. In broad terms, the show deals with the often fractious goings-on of the entire staff.
They might as well have named it "Here's Joan," however, since the show is dominated by hot-as-a-pistol Joan Koplan, known to the rest of the staff as "the chief."
Not one to hide her light under a bushel, Koplan, 61, says she pitched the show to an old friend at the William Morris Agency after hearing frequent comments from locals that the craziness in her office was highly entertaining. Not that she exactly had to be encouraged, however.
"I find myself to be fascinating," she tells Zap2it with characteristic candor. "I am 61 years old, but I feel like I am 17, and sometimes even 13. I've never had to take drugs,...

Chicago – Joan Koplan is one of the more unique reality TV characters of the last few years because she seems refreshingly aware of own personality quirks. We’ve seen dozens of these larger-than-life personalities over the years but Koplan is memorable and genuine enough that AMC has essentially built their newest reality show around her, “Small Town Security,” premiering after the return of “Breaking Bad.”
Television Rating: 3.5/5.0
The program is mostly what you’d expect from a show about the operations of a security company in a Georgia town with only about 3,000 people in it but it’s nice to see reality TV get out of the homes of the rich and the spoiled and into a more unique corner of society and the show explodes into something far more interesting in its final moments as it gives viewers a true emotional moment. At its best, “Small Town Security” is...
