With shooting starting last week in Georgia, Atom Egoyan’s West Memphis Three drama “The Devi’s Knot” added some new cast members to the already extensive ensemble.
First up, the “True Blood” star Stephen Moyer is playing prosecutor John Fogelman and is joining the shoot immediately to take advantage of the hole he has in his schedule for the HBO vampire drama. Moyer hasn’t yet made an impression on the big screen, but we think this bodes well for him as the material has plenty of dramatic potential. “Lost” baddie Kevin Durand (who you'll see in the upcoming "Cosmopolis") is playing John Mark Byers, a role which, if you’re familiar with the “Paradise Lost” trilogy, will likely take advantage of Durand’s penchant for playing smarmy villains. And lastly, character actor Rex Linn, who you may know from the cancelled “CSI: Miami” and Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming “southern” “Django Unchained,...

Our first news on Toy’s House came from none other than Parks and Recreation star Nick Offerman — funny how these things pan out sometimes — only, the news wasn’t all that detailed in the first place. Now, Variety have filled us in by reporting that Alison Brie, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Megan Mullally, and Erin Moriarty (The Watch) will be among the film’s adult leads, while Nick Robinson, Gabriel Basso, and Moises Arias have been assigned to play the kids at its center. Chris Galletta has written the film, on which Jordan Vogt-Roberts will make his debut.
The former’s screenplay aims right for the nostalgia bone, what with it centering on “three unhappy teenagers who flee to the wilderness where they build a makeshift house and live off the land as masters of their own destiny.” In that group is Joe Toy (Robinson), a “sharp-witted” kid with a...
