One of the glorious, and horrifying, things about the current television landscape is just how much there is of it, with plenty of series slipping by unnoticed. And there may be no clearer evidence than “Frontier” starring Jason Momoa, the once and future Aquaman, a Netflix period drama that just released its third season.
A compelling period drama with the edge of “Game of Thrones” and a unique angle on history, “Frontier” is set in the late 18th century, miles away from colonial America, as the battle for control over the territories and the Canadian fur trade is just one of the forces guiding the violent nature of life in the wilderness.
“Game of Thrones” isn’t actually the best comparison point, although Momoa starred in both shows — think the classic HBO western “Deadwood,” albeit with less iambic pentameter and a whole lot more snow.
“Frontier” takes a thoroughly modern...

If you're not watching Jason Momoa's Netflix series Frontier, you should be! It's a really freakin' good series. I'm still in the process of watching it and I've been enjoying it. I put off watching it for awhile, but once I started I was hooked. So, it's good to learn that it's been renewed for a third season.
Season 3 is said to consist of six episodes and will premiere in 2018. If you aren't familiar with the series, Momoa stars as Declan Harp, a part-Irish, part-native American outlaw campaigning to breach the fur trade.
The series was co-created by Rob and Peter Blackie and it also stars Landon Liboiron (Hemlock Grove), Alun Armstrong (New Tricks, Braveheart), Zoe Boyle (Downton Abbey, Sons of Anarchy), Jessica Matten (A Red Girl’s Reasoning), Allan Hawco (Republic of Doyle) and Katie McGrath (King Arthur: Legend of the Sword).

Watch the new trailer for Frontier's second season right here...
While Jason Momoa’s Netflix and Discovery Channel Canada television series is entering its second season, we suspect that a lot more people will be watching when it premieres on Netflix next week. After all, they’ve got a post-Justice League Aquaman attached to Frontier season 2, aye?
In the new trailer for the series, Jason Momoa is back as Delcan Harp, a part-Irish, part-Cree outlaw. He continues his one-man war against the Hudson Bay Company’s monopoly on the fur trade in Canada, and as he fights the good fight, violence and all sorts of snowy slaughter are set to occur.
The series is a historical drama set in the 1700s, co-created by Brad Peyton, Rob Blackie, and Peter Blackie. It also stars Landon Liboiron, Zoe Boyle, Christian McKay, Evan Jonigkeit, Shawn Doyle,...

Could this be the new frontier for Jason Momoa? Underneath his tough exterior and towering presence -- he stands tall at 6-foot-4 and is literally built like a monster truck -- is a family man unafraid of being frank and refreshingly real about his place in Hollywood.
Momoa has had his share of stardom over the years (he was Khal Drogo on Game of Thrones, after all), but it’s a Canadian drama that’s breathing new life into the model-turned-actor. In Netflix’s Frontier, available on Friday, Jan. 20, Momoa plays Irish-Native American outlaw Declan Harp, who violently campaigns to breach the Hudson Bay Company’s monopoly on the fur trade in Canada.
For the 37-year-old Hawaii native, Declan remains “the hardest” role he’s ever played in his career (and that includes Aquaman). Not the most physically challenging per se, the character’s troubled past and tragic family sacrifice was emotionally taxing for Momoa, who is stepfather...

Netflix’s newest series will find one Game of Thrones star living life in the American wilderness. The streaming video service ordered a six-part adventure drama series called Frontier, starring actor Jason Momoa.
Led by San Andreas director Brad Peyton, the six-part Frontier will investigate the North American fur trade business of the late 18th century, which often consisted of situations like hatchet fights and dangerous encounters between European settlers and local Native American tribes. Momoa will star in the period drama series, which is produced by Take the Shot Productions alongside Peyton and Jeff Fierson’s Factory Backwards banner. Peyton will executive produce alongside Fierson, John Vatcher, and Take the Shot’s Rob and Peter Blackie (who co-created the show) and president Alex Patrick.

It may not be Khal Drogo, but Game of Thrones alum Jason Momoa’s new role certainly sounds epic. Told from multiple perspectives, the series takes place in a world where business negotiations might be resolved with close-quarter hatchet fights, and where delicate relations between Native tribes and Europeans can spark bloody conflicts. In addition to Momoa, Frontier‘s cast includes Alun Armstrong (Braveheart), Landon Liboiron (Hemlock Grove), Zoe Boyle “Downton Abbey) and Allan Hawco (The Book of Negroes), and Canadian newcomer Jessica Matten. “We jumped at the opportunity...
