Thomas John Ellis (yes, I am using his full name against him. In a good way of course) is a man of many talents. He plays the piano, sings beautifully and can embody any character. It’s interesting to note that before he became our favourite Devil, he played other notable characters. From Tom Milligan in Dr. Who to Robin Hood in Once Upon a Time and Dr. William Rush in Rush. When I went to his IMDb page and came across his acting credits, it surprised me to learn that he was the first to be cast as Robin Hood

Dr. William Rush is a private doctor with a penchant for self-medicating. His drug of choice? Eighties pop music. Oh yeah, lots of cocaine. Tom Ellis, the actor who plays the title character of USA’s new show Rush, shares a deep and abiding love for one of the doctor’s vices—fortunately, though, it’s not one that will land him in prison.
Ellis shared his fondness for shlock pop while taking EW’s Pop Culture Personality Test: “When I got the briefing from Jonathan Levine about Rush’s taste in music—and it was, of course, that he...

Good medicine can come from not-so-good people, USA Network’s Rush aims to illustrate starting this Thursday at 9/8c.
Tom Ellis (the UK’s Miranda) headlines the series as Dr. William Rush, a renegade physician who only treats the wealthy and elite, and only for (lots of) cold, hard cash. But make no mistake, this is no sun-baked Royal Pains redux; Rush the show, the man, has a gritty edge — a quality that pulled Ellis right in, for his first Stateside starring role.

One of this summer's most promising new shows is Rush, about a private doctor who caters to the elite in Los Angeles. BuddyTV had the chance to visit the set in Vancouver, and talked with the cast about trying to keep Dr. William Rush in check, Harry Hamlin (who has been cast as an important figure in Rush's life) and how music is playing a big role on the show.

USA is debuting two new dramas this summer. One of them is a medical drama that separates itself from the likes of Grey's Anatomy in one big way: Dr. William Rush is a private doctor catering to the elite in Los Angeles. BuddyTV visited the set recently and had the chance to talk with the cast about the show, what makes Rush such an intriguing character, his friendship (and possible tension) with Alex and the outrageous medical ailments and cases that Rush will be showcasing during its inaugural season.

USA Network released trailers for its upcoming new shows on Thursday, offering glimpses of its latest offerings “Rush,” “Complications” and “Satisfaction.” “Rush” stars Tom Ellis (“Miranda”) as Dr. William Rush, a “medical fixer” who privately caters to La's elite and whose service comes with a hefty price tag. Though the hard-partying doctor claims that he doesn't make judgments about his less-than-squeaky-clean clients, he's not immune to the ugliness that he encounters. In “Complications,” Jason O'Mara (“Vegas” and “Terra Nova”) plays John Ellis, a disillusioned suburban ER doctor. Ellis’ existence is transformed when he intervenes in a drive-by shooting, saving a young.

Rescue Me alum Larenz Tate has been upped to series regular on USA’s original medical drama series Rush, set to premiere July 17. From writer-director Jonathan Levine and Fox 21, Rush follows Dr. William Rush (Tom Ellis), a “medical fixer” who privately caters to La’s elite. Tate plays Dr. Alex Thomas, Rush’s best friend dating back to medical school and one of the few constants in his life. Unlike Rush, Alex is a man with a plan — he works as a high-ranking physician at one of Los Angeles’ top hospitals and appears to have the ideal family life that Rush has long resisted. Tate played the role in the pilot as a guest star as he was in second position to comedy pilot Mr. Robinson at USA sibling NBC. Mr. Robinson has since been picked up to series but Tate won’t continue on the series, instead taking on full-time duties on Rush.

USA has unleashed the first trailer for new scripted drama, Rush. Rush follows Los Angeles-based Dr. William Rush (British actor Tom Ellis), who isn't your average on-call doctor. He is highly discreet no matter what the ailment, as long as the client can pay his cash-only premium, and the doctor can party with the best of them. Think of it as an edgier version of USA's Royal Pains, a similarly-premised show that lives in a much sunnier world. USA is having a busy 2014. In addition to renewing "White Collar" for Season 6, the cable network has picked up two new dramas, "Rush" from Jonathan Levine ("Warm Bodies") and "Complications" from "Burn Notice" creator Matt Nix.
For those keeping count, this makes six returning series plus six new series on USA this year.
Although USA has not officially addressed rumors of a "White Collar" cancellation, the show's shortened sixth season will consist of only six episodes. The potentially final episodes will pick up after the cliffhanger ending of Season 5.
The first of the new dramas is "Rush." It stars Tom Ellis as Dr. William Rush. On-call for anyone, anytime, for any reason -- as long as that person can pay a high, cash-only price -- Dr. Rush is a hard-partying guy. He only considers changing his ways when an old flame and a pesky conscience come into the picture.

Do you like "Royal Pains?" USA Network is hoping your answer is an enthusiastic "yes," because it's adding two similar titles -- at least in premise -- to its youth-infused upcoming lineup. The network also renewed "White Collar" for a final, brief season of six episodes. The first of the two new medical dramas is from writer and producer Jonathan Levine ("Warm Bodies," "50/50"). "Rush" focuses on Dr. William Rush (of course), played by Tom Ellis -- an on-call doctor to the stars living a fast-paced life in Hollywood. Anyone hoping this was a spin-off of Ron Howard's 2013 racing film of the same name is sadly out of luck, though Dr. Rush could be seeing a Chris Hemsworth type if he's stricken with, I don't know, a tough bout of handsomeness. The second series comes from a familiar face. Creator and executive producer Matt Nix spent seven season on USA's hit series "Burn Notice,...

USA Network has said yes to more Matt Bomer. (And who wouldn’t?)
The network announced today that it has renewed White Collar for a six-episode sixth season. The studio declined to say whether the season would be the series’s last.
Meanwhile, USA has also picked up Rush, a drama written and produced by Warm Bodies director Jonathan Levine, and Complications, a drama from Burn Notice creator Matt Nix. Both shows are slated for 10-episode runs.
Rush stars Tom Ellis as a party-loving doctor named William Rush who is a master of discretion and the go-to for hush-hush medical needs.

British actor Tom Ellis (Miranda, Gates) is set as the lead of USA Network’s drama pilot Rush. Rick Gonzalez (Coach Carter) also has been cast in the project, from Fox 21. Rush, written/directed by Jonathan Levine, is in the vein of USA’s Royal Pains as it too is about an on-call doctor. It centers on Dr. William Rush (Ellis) who is not your average on-call doctor — he’s not attached to any hospital, he’s highly discreet no matter what the ailment as long as the client can pay his cash-only premium and the doctor can party with the best of them.
