Before he started working on the song, “Dust and Ash,” for the documentary, “The Voice of Dust and Ash,” J. Ralph had never heard of Iranian musician Mohammad Reza Shajarian. He first heard about him from a very notable source. “It was actually Sting’s daughter, Fuschia Sumner, that turned me on to the project. She’s one of the producers and she said, ‘I gotta show you this trailer. I think you’d be really great to get on board,” he tells Gold Derby during our recent interview (watch the exclusive video interview above).
The experience of hearing Shajarian for the first time was nothing short of an eye-opener for him. “It’s this incredible revelation when you get to experience something of this magnitude. His heart and his humility and his talent is something that you very rarely get to see.”

Johnny English Reborn is a sequel that has taken its fair amount of time to appear since the original film was unleashed onto our screens in 2003 but it’s lengthy stint away from us might be to it’s advantage. The new movie is essentially the same as the last with the same gags revolving around the ineptness of this particularly useless British spy who fumbles to succeed but it doesn’t insult as much as it might have done if it was made in 2005.
If you cast your mind back eight years ago you will recall that Johnny English was everything it said it was going to be; a light farce of the 007 film genre that never took itself seriously with a bit of action and a lot of rubber face-ery from the unique, physical and understated comedy talent of Rowan Atkinson. It may not...

Rowan Atkinson returns as the bumbling spy Johnny English, but this second helping is weaker than it should be
Reheated, anyway. Rowan Atkinson's Clouseau-Bond spoof is given another go-around, a very broad comedy turn that, like his Mr Bean character, is designed to do well in foreign markets and territories. Atkinson is the notoriously incompetent agent Johnny English, who for years has been living in a Tibetan monastery, achieving comedy transcendental enlightenment and zen acceptance of his career catastrophe since messing up a job in Mozambique. But spy chief Pamela Thornton (Gillian Anderson) brings him in from the cold for a special mission, tackling a dastardly international conspiracy to assassinate the Chinese premier. English finds himself in contact with CIA man Titus Fisher (Richard Schiff), breezy Brit spy Simon Ambrose (Dominic West) and beautiful special agent Kate Sumner, played dead-straight by Rosamund Pike. Many of the gags are good,...

Rosamund Pike surprised everyone when she was cast as a Bond Girl 10 years ago. And now she is spoofing that role in Johnny English Reborn
It feels strange to say that Johnny English Reborn is something of a revelation. It isn't the film itself – a tepid spy spoof sequel starring Rowan Atkinson and Dominic West, with the occasional blast of amusement and much slapstick. The unexpected element here comes in the form of Rosamund Pike, playing a top MI7 psychologist named Kate Sumner.
Pike provides both comic foil and love interest for Atkinson – all wide eyes, earnest expressions and fitted shift dresses. But her presence is never less than amusing; it's there in the tilt of her neck, the set of her shoulders, and, more than anywhere, in her face – the faint creases around the eyes and the corner of the mouth breathe humour into that famously crisp beauty. The...

The Ronson family gathered at Bar Marmont in La on Friday to celebrate Charlotte's I Heart Ronson JCPenney collection. Celebrity guests included Nicole Richie, the Hilton Sisters and Rashida Jones, but noticeably absent was Lindsay Lohan. Samantha apparently banned Lindsay from coming but LL still tried and had to be restrained by five bouncers at the door when she showed up. Despite the drama, Sam kept busy with her music as their mom Ann Dexter-Jones snapped photos and Mark helped provide the tunes. Lindsay's erratic behavior including unexpectedly joining Lily Allen on stage last week has some worried and with rumors that things might be over for real this time between her and Samantha; maybe LL can concentrate her actions on her career again.
