People who remember Bananarama might be interested to learn that the British pop band is planning a world tour with Sara Dallin, Siobhan Fahey, and Keren Woodward. Since Fahey missed out on the previous world tour, this means that this will be the first time that the full membership of Bananarama will be touring the United States. Something that should come as welcome news to those who remember the 80s with fondness. Who Are Bananarama? For those who are unfamiliar with Bananarama, it was a British pop band that found a fair measure of success in not just the United

The three founding members of Bananarama spent many cruel summers apart since Sibohan Fahey left the group in 1988. But after almost 30 years, the ladies have reunited to hit the road together for the first time.
“It just seemed like such a tragedy that we hadn’t done it when we shared sort of the prime years,” Keren Woodward tells People of never getting to tour with Fahey. “This is just a proper celebration of that period.”
Woodward, 56, and fellow Bananarama cofounder Sara Dallin went on to release numerous albums and tour together, joined by Jacquie O’Sullivan from 1988–91. Meanwhile, Fahey...

The champion swimmer's retirement so young might have surprised many. But she is not alone. Other athletes – and even a member of Wham! – happily did the same
It may be disappointing for the rest of us to see Rebecca Adlington retire, but we aren't the ones who have to get up at 5.15am each day to train. At 23, she simply feels too old to win the biggest races now, she says. "I hate the word 'retired'," she told her press conference. "I'm not retired. Even when I'm 90 years old, I'll still be getting in the pool and going for a swim." But loving what you do and loving winning are two different things. The second one has driven Adlington to become Britain's greatest ever swimmer. You could understand if the distant gleam of bronze is not, perhaps, enough to swap for another four years of her youth.
And she has plans.

Wham bam - what a summer to be British.
First it was all that Jubilee business, showcasing the "best" of our entertainers in front of the royal gates, now the England football team are completely failing to disgrace themselves in the Ukraine, and coming up soon is the small matter of the Olympiad.
Is it really 30 years?? That's scary!
However, all of this is but an hors d'oeuvre to (arguably) the biggest music news of the year so far - a one-off gig by Wham! to celebrate their 30th anniversary.
It's hard to believe in this age of ageing rockers who continue to tour into their seventies, but Wham! were only actually around for four, bouncey years, with George Michael on vocals, keyboards, songwriting duties, and his school pal Andrew Ridgeley on... confidence and guitar, occasionally even plugged in.
But between 1982 and 1986 they took the pop world by storm, both...

Belle Amie’s cover of Bananarama’s ‘Venus’ has been slammed by the band as “lame”
Singer Keren Woodward explained she was unimpressed with the ‘X Factor’ girlband’s version of their 1986 hit ‘Venus’, and didn’t realise it was possible to make the song sound so bad.
The singer said: “I really hate to b***h and I hate to sort of slate people, I thought it’s really difficult to make that song sound lame, but they kind of managed it.
“I didn’t think it was possible. I mean, I do that song week in, week out, and whatever mood you’re in, however you’re feeling, you can’t help but belt that one out. Anyway, I didn’t know you can.”
