It’s true; no matter what certain networks may claim about their “winter finales,” winter doesn’t actually start until December 21, and isn’t over until March 20. Syfy, at least, understands this, and has announced their appropriately-titled winter schedule accordingly.
Happily this means that, starting on Monday, January 14, 2013, we will have some great television to get us through the cold months, including the return of Being Human and Lost Girl, and the premiere of Continuum, and later in the week, the return of Ghost Hunters and Face Off.
Here’s the schedule of premieres, along with series synopses:
Syfy’S 2013 Winter Programming Highlighted By Series Premieres Of Ghost Mine, Robot Combat League, Stranded And Continuum Season Returns Of Hits Being Human, Face Off, Total Blackout, Ghost Hunters, Lost Girl, Haunted Collector And Final Season Of Merlin

Jaleel White (Family Matters) was at the TCA Winter Press Tour today to talk about his new series on Syfy called Total Blackout, a Us adaptation of the Danish game show of the same name. The series is a half-hour game show in which contestants will battle each other (and their phobias) in a series of challenges.
The main structure of the show is three rounds in which there are no lights, no blindfolds and the players have to identify items in the dark or complete other physical challenges. Night vision cameras will catch all the action.
The TCA panel featured a live demo of the process in which several TV actors and personalities participated, including Sam Huntington (Being Human), Jenni Pulos (Interior Therapy With Jeff Lewis), Sabina Kelley (Best Ink), Sarah Colonna (Chelsea Lately). They were all tasked with identifying objects in 3 tanks, which included a feather duster, a foot and eels in water.

Cannes -- Fuji Television and FremantleMedia, the corporate pair that teamed up on international format smash "Hole in the Wall," have set up a closer partnership to co-develop and produce TV formats for the international market.
Under the partnership, given the grand title Creative Exchange Alliance, Fuji production exec So Fujinuma will spend three months working at various FremantleMedia operations across the U.K., U.S. and Asia. The second half of the exchange will see Henrik Nielsen, an exec producer at FremantleMedia North America, work at Fuji TV's headquarters in Tokyo.
By learning the intimate in-house details of the other company -- following productions from development and planning through taping -- Fuji and Fremantle hope to better co-ordinate future joint productions.
