The big story
It perhaps doesn't rate up there with Disney buys Star Wars or Skyfall slays box office, but in these parts we're all big admirers of We Need to Talk About Kevin director Lynne Ramsay, whose career appeared to be on the up after Kevin's successful translation to the big screen following a long period – almost ten years in fact – of fallowness, since her previous film, 2002's Morvern Callar. Which is why it's set us, and the film world, in a spin to hear that Ramsay abruptly left the production of her new project, indie western Jane's Got a Gun, before a frame had been shot.
There's undoubtedly more to this than meets the eye, and we have to be careful what we say as this is a proper breaking news story, but Jane isn't some...

Some have suggested that Have I Got News For You has faded in the years since Angus Deayton left, but it's still capable of pulling out a classic comedy moment every now and again. One such brilliant scene happened on last Friday's (May 25) show, when guest host William Shatner belted out his wonderful cover of Elton John's 'Rocket Man', as first heard in 1978 and reprised for last year's Seeking Major Tom LP. Wonderful stuff, I'm sure you'll agree. As you can see from their reactions, the panellists on last week's show were also pretty impressed. Before the show aired, Charlie Brooker told Digital Spy: "It's going to be very odd. It'll be interesting. He's 81 years old, (more)...

Veteran actor William Shatner has shown off his presenting skills by hosting a satirical TV news show in Britain.
The 81 year old took charge of Have I Got News for You, which was broadcast in the U.K. on Friday, and appeared from behind a screen to rapturous applause from the studio audience.
He joked with the celebrity panellists, broadcaster Charlie Brooker and comedian Andy Hamilton, about news topics from the week including the G8 summit, the Leveson Inquiry and the Olympic Torch relay.
During the show, Shatner sang along to Sir Elton John's hit Rocket Man and at one point team captain Paul Merton declared, "Can I just say what a joy and what a surreal experience it is having you on this show."
Shatner replied, "May I say, it's an out-of-body experience for me too!"...

Elizabeth Hurley has sparked rumours she's pregnant with her second child after trying to cover up "a little bump" at a Breast Cancer Research Foundation event in New York last week.
Fellow Hottest Pink Party Ever guest Elton John, who gave the actress away at her wedding to Indian businessman Arun Nayar last year, was also overheard congratulating Hurley's man.
A source tells In Touch magazine, "Elton kissed and hugged Elizabeth and congratulated Arun.
"They seemed to be giggling over their little secret."
Hurley wore a tummy-covering sari to the event, abstained from alcohol and "carried her clutch (bag) in front of her belly."
The insider reports, "But you could still see a little bump."
The 42-year-old Austin Powers star, who has a six-year-old son by producer Steve Bing, is refusing to confirm reports she is with child and Hurley's representatives had not returned Wenn's calls by our deadline.
