Taking cues from The Cosby Show’s iconic spinoff A Different World but updated for some 30 years later, Grown-ish, the Black-ish spawn premiered on Freeform in January 2018 by following Yara Shahidi’s Zoey Johnson, Dre (Anthony Anderson) and Bow’s (Tracee Ellis Ross) firstborn, to college. Similar to its predecessor, Grown-ish tackled many controversial topics, including university investment in the prison system, drug use, pre-nil exploitation of college athletes, sex, the value of college and more, but did so with a fresh voice and perspective.
Zoey’s college world included her competing love interests — woke Black campus activist Aaron (Trevor Jackson) and ultimate hipster Luca (Luka Sabbat) — as well as Latina Republican Ana (Francia Raìsa), Jewish rebel Nomi (Emily Arlook), first-generation Indian American and all-around hustler Vivek (Jordan Buhat), Olympic-bound South Los Angeles track stars Jazz and Sky (sisters Chloe and Halle Bailey, who perform the show’s theme song) and later,...

It’s been almost 20 years since Mariah Carey last won a Grammy, so when she received the Global Impact Award from the Recording Academy’s Black Music Collective, she offered a dose of her signature comical shade.
“Is this a real Grammy? I haven’t seen one in soooooo long,” she said Thursday night as she held the award.
“It’s weird. I don’t know,” Carey continued while laughing as the audience at the Fairmont Century Plaza cheered her on. “We’ll figure out what this is later.”
Carey is easily one of the best-selling acts of all-time and holds the record for most No. 1 hits — 20 — by a solo artist. She’s been nominated for 34 Grammys, winning five: best new artist and best female pop vocal performance (“Vision of Love”) in 1991, as well as three R&b honors at the 2006 ceremony for “We Belong Together” and The Emancipation of Mimi.

It should go without saying that any variety series with an episode entitled “Peek-a-Boob Your Titty’s Out” is not here to play. But HBO’s “A Black Lady Sketch Show” has been riotously rooting in irreverence for four seasons, and production designers Cindy Chao and Michele Yu have been there for the whole wild ride.

“The way Michele and I work is very organic,” said Chao, who is enjoying her second consecutive Emmy nomination along with her work partner. “Sometimes with a time crunch we will have to separate, but overall, we are designing together, scouting together, and coming up with great brainstorming ideas and concepts together.”
And this season alone involves designing dozens of scenes and backdrops for a six-episode go-round, including a large array of builds and location finds, something showrunner and star Robin Thede wanted from the start.

Latto is building up her IMDb page. Earlier this week, the rapper made her acting debut in an episode of Freeform’s Grown-ish as the smooth-talking wine sales representative Sloane. During the episode, she stops by a winery to drop off a delivery for Doug (Diggy Simmons) and snags a date — as well as her commission. “You can’t rush fine wine…or fine women,” she tells him.
And she isn’t in a rush to totally transition from music to acting either, but Latto has enjoyed dipping her toe into the water.

Now, this is a little bittersweet.
On the one hand, we're thrilled that Grown-ish is finally back because we sure have missed all the CalU shenanigans.
But knowing this is the last season premiere is a tough pill to swallow.
But fear not, Grown-ish fanatics, the beloved series is going out in style!
And we have a sneak peek from the upcoming premiere, which has a Very interesting call between Junior and Annika.
Following along with Junior's college adventures has been amazing, and he'll be back this season one year wiser and continuing to relish in the whirlwind adventure that is college life, which includes his relationship with Annika.
One of the biggest parts of the college experience is dating, and all that entails.
And as you'll see in this exclusive clip, Junior finds himself on the receiving end of an invitation from Annika that leaves him a little rattled.

There are always Love Is Blind cast members we don’t get to see. After season 4, Marshall Glaze tried to make a relationship work with Kacia Clark. Here is who she is and why it didn’t work.
Marshall reconnected with Kacia from the pods after ‘Love Is Blind’
Jackelina “Jackie” Bonds ended her engagement with Marshall. She also reunited with Josh Demas from the pods. Marshall asked if he considered connecting with anyone from the pods in an interview with E! News.
“Yes, I actually reached out to Kacia, and we tried. We tried, but I wanted to distance myself from all of that, from that experience. And it just–it was gonna be difficult to try to make a relationship with Kacia. I’m still to this day kind of like apologetic about starting something and getting her hopes up and me going back into my shell. Like,...

“A Black Lady Sketch Show” is back for a fourth season and, according to series creator and star Robin Thede, the comedy is bigger and broader than ever. In fact, internally, they’ve been referring to this season in multiversal terms.
“These women play hundreds of characters in so few episodes, and they’re so talented, we keep talking about the Black Lady Cinematic Universe,” Thede tells Variety, exclusively debuting the trailer for Season 4 and promising that this six-episode season utilizes its stars’ unique abilities more creatively than ever.
“It’s about expansion and what our creativity can create, for good or for evil,” Thede explains, winking at the return of the devil, who she also portrays. “It feels like we’re in an era of self-creation, of defining what this universe can be and removing any limitations that we may have had.”

Some people may have thought Mario would be a one-hit wonder, but he proved he had many other great songs where that one came from. He continued releasing successful projects through the late 2010s and became known to countless people worldwide. Omarion is ready to share his personal journey to self-assurance with the world. Fans may know the Grammy-nominated singer from his B2K days and, of course, success as a solo artist, but there's another side that people have yet to meet.
For the past two decades, Omarion has dedicated his life's work to a music career. He's currently working on his next album, "Full Circle," which is expected to release later this year, along with other TV and movie projects ushering him into his "mogul" era. For the singer, balancing these responsibilities, fame, and fatherhood hasn't been without challenges, which include dodging negative rumors and public feuds. But Omarion has smartly poured all those experiences and then some into his insightful literary debut, "Unbothered: The Power of Choosing Joy."

Omarion has had a lot of explaining to do lately. In an attempt to make light of the devastation surrounding the new omicron variant of Covid-19, the B2K singer became a household name like it's the year 2006 all over again. There have been millions of jokes interchanging omicron for Omarion. It's to the point where I and many others automatically read omicron as Omarion. I can't help it! On Dec. 1, the singer posted a tweet saying he's "thankful" to be giving people laughter even if it means "being superimposed on the new variant." He added, "While we laugh, stay safe and stay healthy."
There is nothing more healing than music or a good laugh. I’m thankful to be able to give people both…From the omarion dance challenge to being superimposed on the new variant, The internet is forever undefeated. While we laugh, stay safe and stay healthy.

Nicole Scherzinger has lost the Golden Ear trophy two years in a row to rival panelist Jenny McCarthy, but she’s hoping there won’t be a third. “I’m out for blood this season,” she revealed during the October 13 episode of Fox’s ratings juggernaut. “I really was missing being on stage,” JoJo admitted during her unmasked interview with host Nick Cannon. “And I was developing this stage fright. I was like, can I even sing anymore? Can I even perform? I was just all in my head and feeling way too anxious about things. This freaked me out so I said yes to it.

A champion was crowned on Wednesday night’s Season 5 finale of “The Masked Singer.” The Piglet reigned supreme and took home the Golden Mask trophy after belting out a passionate rendition of “Faithfully” by Journey. When it came time to unmask the winner, 98 Degrees’ Nick Lachey was revealed as the talented farm animal. The Black Swan (Grammy winner JoJo) placed second and the Chameleon (rapper Wiz Khalifa) finished in third.
“I miss performing,” Nick told host Nick Cannon during his unmasked interview. “And that’s what this experience has done for me is remind me how much I love singing. How much I love music. I’ve had the best time going on this twisted, weird ride that is ‘The Masked Singer.’ My kids wanted me to do the show for so long. Daddy’s coming home with a little hardware!”

Their job is to wade through the clues to try to identify the secret celebrities hiding inside extravagant costumes. Sometimes their sleuthy powers are strong enough to guess the contestants’ true identities — but mostly their predictions are embarrassingly wrong. So which panelist has consistently been the best guesser throughout the years and who’s been the worst?
