Pete Davidson is walking away from his semi-autobiographical comedy series, “Bupkis.”
The Peacock show, which debuted in May 2023, was slated to go into production this summer for a second season. Davidson issued a press statement formally pulling the plug on the series entirely.
“I’ve always seen ‘Bupkis’ as a window into my life, since it is so personal and about my struggles and family,” Davidson said. “After nearly a decade of my personal life being in the media I wanted a chance to tell my story my way. Of all the work I’ve ever done, ‘Bupkis’ is by far what I’m most proud of.”
He continued, “I am so grateful to Lorne Michaels and Broadway Video, Peacock, Universal Television, and the amazing cast and writers for helping me create something honest, funny, and heartfelt. I do also feel that this part of my life is finished. I...

“I do also feel that this part of my life is finished,” Davidson shared in a statement via Variety. “I’m very excited for this next chapter and for you guys to see the work. Thank you to all who...

Pete Davidson is moving on. The comedian has decided not to proceed with a second season of his semi-autobiographical series Bupkis for Peacock.
The streamer renewed the series in June 2023, a month after its premiere. But Davidson said that he changed his mind because he feels “this part of my life is finished”.
It is the latest series to be renewed and then not move forward, although most decisions are reversed by the network or streamer.
Now it seems that fans [Spoiler Alert] will not find out how Davidson fared after his car crash at the end of season one.
The series also stars Edie Falco and Joe Pesci and comes from Universal Television and Lorne Michaels’ Broadway Video.
The first season had a large entourage of guest stars including Machine Gun Kelly, Steve Buscemi, Bobby Cannavale, Charlie Day, Al Gore, Paul Walter Hauser, Chase Sui Wonders and Ray Romano.

What is a TV “comedy” in 2023? In an era of blurred genres, it’s not so cut and dry anymore. Opening Variety’s “A Night in the Writer’s Room,” Variety’s Michael Schneider asked the nine comedy writers on stage to raise their hand if their show features a death. Most did. He followed up by asking, how many of those deaths were murders?
Many kept their hands up high — but holding his hand the highest was “Only Murders in the Building” co-creator John Hoffman “I feel like that’s the beauty of [comedy], that you can kind of do anything … pick a world, be specific about it, be stupid about it, and then you’re good,” Hoffman said of the ability now on television to stretch the definition of comedy.
“It takes a lot of work to subtract comedy from real life,” echoed Boots Riley (“I’m a Virgo”) in...

Peacock’s ordering more of Bupkis, giving the half-hour comedy series a season two order. The first season premiered on May 4, 2023 with the release of all eight episodes. Peacock didn’t confirm when fans can expect the just-announced second season to debut.
“Pete Davidson is a once-in-a-generation talent, and what he created with the first season of Bupkis absolutely blew us away,” stated Susan Rovner, Chairman, Entertainment Content, NBCUniversal Television and Streaming. “Pete has the rare ability to make you laugh out loud with his unfiltered brand of comedy, and then tear up with his raw and honest vulnerability. We could not be more proud to continue on this journey with Pete, Lorne Michaels, Broadway Video, and our partners at Universal Television for a second season as we continue to bolster Peacock’s comedy slate.

As the fate of the bulk of The CW's scripted series remains Tba, the network has picked up another Canadian import.
Son of a Critch is set to air on the network this summer.
The series is a coming-of-age story based on the childhood and adolescence of Canadian comedian Mark Critch.
At the beginning of the series, 11-year-old Mark is growing up in 1980s Newfoundland, where he navigates starting junior high school, making friends, and connecting with the small collection of people in his limited world.
“When I was a young kid watching American TV in the ‘80s, I never dreamed that one day my own story would be beamed back over the border,” said Mark Critch.
“Having enjoyed so many CW shows with my own family, I’m excited to invite our American friends over to ‘my house.

“When I was a young kid watching American TV in the ‘80s, I never dreamed that one day my own story would be beamed back over the border,” said Mark Critch.
“Having enjoyed so many CW shows with my own family, I’m excited to invite our American friends over to ‘my house.

"The clones – they're just horny science experiments!" Ohh they definitely are! HBO Max has unveiled the full official trailer for Clone High, the return of the cult classic animated series from Lord & Miller. Same style, same characters, even some of the same voice cast. Clone High was the very first creation of Phil Lord & Chris Miller, now known for Cloudy, The Lego Movie, Solo, 21 Jump Street. It was cancelled after one season in 2002 - but it's back 21 years later. After a high school that was secretly being run as an experiment to clone the greatest minds in history was put on ice, all of the young clones have been thawed out 20 years later to resume the experiment with new clone classmates—all while navigating a new set of cultural norms. With the voices of Will Forte as Abe Lincoln, Nicole Sullivan as Joan of Arc, Christa Miller as Candide Simpson,...

The premiere of Pete Davidson's new comedy Bupkis is masturbatory in two ways, and one severely undercuts the other. Though future episodes of the Peacock series take ambitious stylistic swings, the first one tells a straightforward story about Pete assessing his life as a directionless celebrity who lives at home with his mother. Written by Davidson with Judah Miller and Dave Sirus, it’s designed to cast a comic gauntlet, delivering one gross-out moment after another to announce the show will be giddily impolite as it explores what it’s like to be a famous, aimless dude. But the episode is also crafted to make us care about Pete as a person. Tucked inside the raunchy bits are frequent pleas to sympathize with the guy and care enough about him to follow eight episodes’ worth of his adventures.

According to plan, Pete Davidson was supposed to have made his triumphant return to Rockefeller Center’s Studio 8H this weekend for his debut as “Saturday Night Live” host.
Because of the Writers Guild of America strike, however, Davidson’s “SNL” return will have to wait, since it’s among the many shows that gave gone dark after the Writers Guild of America went on strike May 1.
Davidson is using his free time to show his support of the WGA, by joining writers picketing outside Silvercup Studios in Brooklyn.

Pete Davidson knows a thing or two about reputation preceding reality.
Since his “Saturday Night Live” debut in 2014, Davidson has carved a niche playing extensions or exaggerated versions of himself, whether it’s “The King of Staten Island,” “Bodies Bodies Bodies,” or the rom-com “Meet Cute.” “Bupkis,” the Peacock comedy created by Davidson, Judah Miller, and Dave Sirus, dials Pete Davidson — the idea, not the actual person — up to 1000, accepting him as an entity unto himself.
As that heightened version of himself, Pete lives in Staten Island with his mother (Edie Falco) and hangs out with his mostly good-for-nothing friends. His cantankerous grandfather (Joe Pesci) gives him a rude awakening in the premiere, telling his grandson to stop being so selfish and do something for someone else once in a while — with disastrous results.
Early announcements compared “Bupkis” to “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” with Davidson as the parallel for a de facto Larry David,...

Pete Davidson’s new sitcom, Bupkis, opens with a scene where his mother, Amy, played by Edie Falco, walks in on him while he’s masturbating to VR porn. That episode closes with him physically helping an old friend of the family, played by Brad Garrett, have sex with a prostitute after Garrett’s hip gives out mid-thrust.

Plot: A new comedy following Pete Davidson as he attempts to work through unique family dynamics and the complexities of fame to form meaningful relationships.
Review: Love him or hate him, Pete Davidson is very popular these days. After his stint on Saturday Night Live, his semi-autobiographical Judd Apatow movie The King of Staten Island, as well as a string of high-profile relationships with everyone from Ariana Grande and Kate Beckinsale to Kim Kardashian and more, Davidson has used his fame and unique comedic style to develop a new Peacock series. Bupkis finds Pete Davidson playing the most challenging role of his career: himself. Taking a cue from Larry David’s HBO series Curb Your Enthusiasm, Bupkis is a showcase for Davidson’s sense of humor, and a huge cast of famous guest stars reenacting stories from his life exaggerated in such a way that you cannot tell what is true and what is fiction.

“Your life is fascinating,” a friend tells comedian Pete Davidson, in character as comedian Pete Davidson. “I don’t know what it’s like to live it, but goddamn, do we have fun watching it.”
It’s never a good sign when we have to be told, rather than shown, how interesting a person or project is meant to be. Yet that’s precisely the position in which “Bupkis” decides to put itself. The Peacock comedy is the second Davidson vehicle to draw heavily from the “Saturday Night Live” alum’s autobiography, after “The King of Staten Island” in 2020. In the style of director Judd Apatow, that feature film was already bloated; “Bupkis” takes the movie’s two-and-a-half-hour tale and stretches it out for another four, to diminishing returns.

The new Peacock series "Bupkis" is almost working overtime from the get-go to inure itself from any serious criticism. The title alone puts you in mind of something not worth expending much effort upon, but each of the eight episodes begins with a title card and accompanying voiceover essentially shielding co-creator, co-writer, and star Pete Davidson from any serious attacks, specifying that while the series may be inspired by fact, it is still very much a fictional product. "It's bupkis," is the closing sentence of the title card, and the tone of the narrator communicates a sense that none of this is worth getting worked up over. That title card ends up being a sign that expectations are best lowered when approaching the streaming series that presents a skewed version of the life of the very famous stand-up comedian/sketch performer, and also a sign that "Bupkis" is a scattershot,...

“Bupkis” should eliminate any lingering doubt that Pete Davidson’s favorite topic is Pete Davidson.
To be fair, he’s a pretty juicy subject. Premiering Thursday, the new Peacock series presents a fictionalized version of the comedian and former “Saturday Night Live” star’s life, from tragic roots to tabloid fodder to a grab bag of self-destructive tendencies, including an enthusiastic addiction to drugs and alcohol. He can seem like a snake eating its own tail as river-deep insecurities feed his comedy, the lifestyle of which sends him careening further out of control.
With “Bupkis,” created by Davidson, Judah Miller and Dave Sirus, he turns the trainwreck into a theme park ride of sorts, or perhaps a hall of cracked mirrors. If Fellini and Judd Apatow made a TV show together it might feel like “Bupkis.” There’s even a black-and-white episode, set in a rehab facility, where Pete’s...

What is it about Pete Davidson?
That’s the question that comes up every time the tabloids report on his dating life, every time we hear about Lorne Michaels taking him on vacation or Jeff Bezos promising to shoot him into space. It sometimes seems even to extend to his roles — like his signature Saturday Night Live character Chad, a totally unremarkable dude who nevertheless attracts attention and adoration everywhere he goes.
It’s a question that might find its way to your lips again as you scan the eye-watering list of cameos for Davidson’s new Peacock dramedy Bupkis — everyone from Machine Gun Kelly (of course) to Ray Romano (why not) to Al Gore (what?). Heck, it’s more or less the premise of Bupkis, created by Davidson (alongside Judah Miller and David Sirus) and starring Davidson as a fictionalized version of himself. So there's this guy called Pete Davidson — perhaps you've heard of him? You might be familiar with the fact that he's dated countless beautiful, talented women. Maybe you once read that he bought a decommissioned Staten Island ferry boat with "Saturday Night Live" co-star Colin Jost. But what often gets lost in the headlines highlighting his fascinating life is his work as an actor and comedian.
Davidson wrote, starred in, and executive produced "The King of Staten Island." He was a cast member on "SNL" for eight seasons. He's been in "Meet Cute," "The Suicide Squad," "Good Mourning," "Big Time Adolescence," "Bodies Bodies Bodies," and the upcoming "Transformers: Rise of the Beasts." Pete Davidson is just as famous for his personal life as his acting career, so it’s only fitting that his first leading television role sees him playing himself. The upcoming Peacock comedy “Bupkis” stars Davidson as Davidson, parodying the surreal levels of fame he has achieved in recent years with the help of some A-list friends.
The show is similar to Davidson’s 2020 film “The King of Staten Island,” which was directed by Judd Apatow and saw the former “Saturday Night Live” cast member in a role heavily inspired by his own background. Unlike that film though, “Bupkis” sees Davidson explicitly play a fictionalized version of himself, juggling acting roles, antics in the celebrity world, tabloid rumors, and his relationships with his working class family from Staten Island.
The trailer features many nods to real life tabloid stories and rumors involving Davidson, including his sister complaining about speculation about the star’s penis size.

Clone High was easily one of my favourite animated shows, but the series was cancelled in 2003 after just thirteen episodes. Now, twenty years later, the clones are back! HBO Max has released the first teaser trailer for the upcoming Clone High revival, which features the return of Abe, Joan, Cleo, JFK, and a few new faces.
The original Clone High series was created by Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Bill Lawrence, all of whom have returned for the revival. Dubbed a “modern refresh” of the original series, Clone High is “set at a high school for clones of historical figures. After a high school that was secretly being run as an elaborate military experiment to clone the greatest minds in history was put on ice, the clones have been thawed out 20 years later to resume the experiment with new clone classmates – all while navigating a new set of cultural norms and overly dramatic teen relationships.

Earlier on in their careers, when they were green, they made a little animated show called "Clone High" for MTV that, despite gaining critical acclaim and a loving audience, lasted just one season. Now though, the show is coming back on HBO Max, and we've got a brand new teaser trailer for the revival of this cult classic.
Lord and Miller have put their powers to use to bring back their beloved series, with original voice actors Will Forte and Nicole Sullivan returning as well. Lord is also back as Scudworth, Miller as JFK and Mr. B, Christa Miller as Candide Sampson, Donald Faison as George Washington Carver, and Judah Miller as Scangrade.

Despite its short shelf life and bumpy history, "Clone High" achieved a bit of a cult status after it ended, and now, it's set to return with a stellar new cast and a few fan favorites. A first look at the upgraded version of the series debuted at WonderCon, where stars Nicole Sullivan...
