Google is trialling a major new layout for its home page. The overhaul, designed to promote the firm's other services, will replace the horizontal option bar with a drop-down menu containing Google's other ventures. The pull-down menu offers access to Google+, Gmail, YouTube and other services. Analysts say the move is being implemented to introduce icons to the site without resembling Yahoo's layout. "They are trying to deal with how to service all the different Google properties without making the page cluttered, because Google is always very keen to hang onto the plain minimalist front page that they have always had," Davies Murphy Group's Chris Green told BBC News. "The other thing that they are doing with those menus is making the page look like their Chrome netbook operating system. So whether you are using a Chromebook or (more)...

It’s here at last. After months of work and whole minutes of preparation, Empire Presents…Big Screen kicked off this morning at The O2 in London. Our own Chris Hewitt was there to present the event in style, or at least his own inimitable style, and the very first studio to present footage was 20th Century Fox.Fox’ Chris Green was there to present the panel. He started with the just-released Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes, wherein we saw a featurette on the groundbreaking apes effects of the film and a quick look at the barnstorming last act. Then it was the turn of In Time, the Justin Timberlake / Amanda Seyfried sci-fi thriller. That was the same long-form trailer we’ve seen before, but it looked great on the big screen. Then it was the turn of Russian-set sci-fi thriller The Darkest Hour (in 3D) and a...

We have really been enjoying the redecorated apartment since our party. It's hard to believe it is the same place I lived in for eight months pre-Kevin. My work space (see left) is so much more organized and efficient now.
Sunday we went to Giovanni's show at Stonewall, then went back there later for Invasion@Stonewall with Porsche, who was fabulous. She talked a lot about Fire Island and we just booked a trip there for early June. Anyone who sings Tammy Wynette's "Your Good Girl's Gonna Go Bad" has to be cool, right?
Monday night we attended Musical Mondays at Splash and had a blast. I finally got to meet Chris Green.
On the downside, the Falcons were crushed on Saturday night in an embarrassing home playoff loss. This is not how I thought the season would end. It's too bad the team put in such a poor effort.

Zombies attacks are never fun, and werewolf assaults are certainly not something you want to experience on a regular basis. However, when the two get together, you might as well buy a plot and prepare to die. The good boys and girls over at Troma have snagged distribution rights to director Chris Green’s “Zombie Werewolves Attack”, a touching story about a group of stoners who are attacked by a legion of — you guessed it — zombie werewolves. The embedded trailer is suitably low-budget and impossibly cheesy, which is exactly what you’d expect from a motion picture with Troma’s name plastered across the packaging. And that’s a-okay with me, just in case you were wondering. For those curious parties, here’s the synopsis: “Zombie Werewolves Attack!” Is about a small group of friends that are enjoying a party, only to have it crashed by uninvited guests. After barely surviving the werewolf attack,...

With an outrageous movie title like "Zombie Werewolves Attack!", you know you're in for some down home b-movie goodness. The indie distribution group Troma has obtained the rights to distribute the flick known previously as 'The Howlers Come'.
Zombie Werewolves Attack! was written & directed by Chris Green and stars Marcel Legault, Ginette Gaskin, & Dany Gehshan.
Synopsis:
"Zombie Werewolves Attack! Is about a small group of friends that are enjoying a party, only to have it crashed by uninvited guests. After barely surviving the werewolf attack, they learn that it has killed most of the people in their town. Now, surrounded by a town turned into werewolves, they face a difficult dilemma. Can they kill the innocent victims of the wolves, now werewolves themselves, to survive?"
According to their Facebook Page, Zombie Werewolves Attack! is now available for digital download but there is no information as to where you can download it from.

If there's a movie about zombie werewolves on the attack it only figures Troma would be involved with it somehow. Indeed. One look at the trailer for Zombie Werewolves Attack! and you'll see why Troma picked up the distribution rights.

According to writer/director Chris Green, his gonzo horror comedy (originally titles The Howlers Come until Troma wisely chose a more befitting campier title), Zombie Werewolves Attack! could be available for download and DVD before Halloween.

The hype around the iTablet is reaching a fever pitch with the Kindle increasingly looking like yet another example of Apple roadkill. If Apple can consume 32% of the profits in the mobile phone biz in less than three years, it should be no problem to swallow the nascent e-reader business in one quick bite. No sooner had Jeff Bezos graced the cover of Fast Company than the Kindle was pronounced dead by the digiterati (actually, it was "Kindle in Danger of Becoming E-books' Betamax," according to Brett Arends in the Wall Street Journal). With competition for e-readers heating up, will Jeff be able to defend his walled garden from rivals inside and outside the category that he built?
I feel some real loyalty to the Kindle. I wrote my first Fast Company posts the same week that Amazon launched the Dx and used the Kindle as a prime example of "brand-led innovation.
