Chicago – The Hellzapoppin Circus Sideshow Revue combines circus freaks like you’ve never seen before performing the world’s most dangerous and record-setting stunts.
The vaudeville freak show includes fire eating, fire breathing, sword swallowing, illusions, drill bit swallowing, lawnmower balancing, a half-man who walks his bare hands on shards of glass and much more.
I stood on stage to film the 60-minute show at Riot Fest in Chicago on Sept. 17, 2017 and edited it down to the very best 9 minutes. Performers include Bryce “The Govna” Graves, Short E. Dangerously, illusionist and conjuror Dan Sperry and sword swallower Ryan Stock. Watch now below!

Halloween is nearly upon us, and it seems like everywhere you turn someone is hosting a haunted house, hayride, steamboat or some other attraction. The weak of heart can always look forward to the fact that the Halloween season is only about a month long and they can return to life as usual on November 1st. Well, New Yorkers, a new tenant has moved in, and they're planning on scaring the pants off you all year long.
The horror studs behind Las Vegas' Fright Dome have now opened Times Scare in New York City. This is a year-round horror attraction featuring a high-tech theater which houses extreme illusionist, the anti-conjurer, Dan Sperry (who needs to be seen to be appreciated...he's been referred to as a living Tim Burton film), an attraction based on Michael Myers and the Halloween series and not one, but two fully stocked bars for the boozehounds among the gorehounds.

Best known for making Howie Mandel completely lose his shit during "America's Got Talent", illusionist Dan Sperry is getting ready to kick off his tour and for at least one night he'll have one hell of a pretty face on hand to join him!
From the Press Release
America’s Got Talent” semifinalist, Dan Sperry, will be joined on stage by “Scream Queen” and iconic horror film actress, Danielle Harris, as he brings his offbeat style of shock illusion to audiences at the Roberts Orpheum Theater in St. Louis on Friday, March 11, at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m.
The famed actress will take the stage to kick off the multi-city tour followed by a death-defying illusion where Sperry will make her disappear from under the audience’s watchful eye. Guests can enjoy a one-of-a-kind performance combining illusion and the bizarre with satirical macabre humor and non-stop mayhem all set to an industrial musical score.

Last night’s America’s Got Talent finally shook things up a tiny bit, with early favorites ArcAttack unexpectedly getting the boot. Worst! At least Prince Poppycock made the cut, as did Michael Grimm, Taylor Matthews, Anna & Patryk, and Christina & Ali. Not so lucky? Future Funk, Dan Sperry, Kristina Young, AscenDance, Antonio Restivo, and Connor Doran.
For those of you keeping score at home (all of us), of the first five finalist acts, four are singers. Four! (Anna & Patryk are ballroom dancers. Child ballroom dancers.)
I’m disappointed. Kite guy Connor Doran, funky rock-climbing duo AscenDance, crazy electricity-wielding ArcAttack — America,...

'America's Got Talent' threw a few curve balls at its audience on Wednesday night's results show. Traditionally, the show invites three to four acts up on stage and then host Nick Cannon announces which one will advance to the next round.
Lightning performers ArcAttack, magician Dan Sperry, the dance duo known as Future Funk and singer Kristina Young had every reason to think that at least one of them was going to the finals after they were called up to face the judges.
But Cannon shocked the crowd by saying that it was the end of the road for all four acts.
"I'd never seen that," said judge Piers Morgan after the program. "I had no idea it was going to happen."

America's Got Talent delivered twists and turns on Wednesday's results show, but the biggest surprise of the night was the elimination of dancing duo Future Funk. "It's an exceptional year for the singers," Piers Morgan tells People. "Prince Poppycock, Michael Grimm, even Taylor Mathews -- it doesn't surprise me at all that they went through." Shortly after the show began, electricity wranglers ArcAttack, creepy magician Dan Sperry, singer Kristina Young and Future Funk were sent home in a quadruple elimination that stunned the audience and host Nick Cannon. "I was shocked," Cannon tells People. "That's never happened on this show.

Anna & Patryk, Michael Grim, Prince Poppycock, Taylor Matthews and Christina & Ali have become the first acts to progress to the final Top 10 of America's Got Talent's fifth season. The first group of 12 semi-final acts performed last night for the judges and the voting public as they competed for the $$1 million prize and the chance to headline their own show in Las Vegas. Their success meant that ArcAttack, Dan Sperry, Future Funk, Kristina Young, Ascendance (more)...

This week was, for the most part, a bit of a clunker. Somewhere in the back of our minds, we remember voting in some really good acts, acts we believed in, but most of them must be performing next week. This week really belonged to Prince Poppycock and Michael Grimm (and Anna and Patryk if you ask Piers Morgan's diary/blog/voicemail/picket sign).
The first group on stage is ArcAttack, Dan Sperry, Future Funk, and Kristina Young. I'm thinking this spot belongs to ArcAttack, based on how last night went (the only group Piers didn't X). Poor Kristina Young. Howie predicts that it will be Future Funk or ArcAttack, but I feel like Future Funk is getting more annoying than cute these days. In a messed up and unpredictable move, No One from this group moves forward. Howie asks, "is that real?" It is. There's five more spots,...

The day has finally come, PopWatchers. I didn’t think we were going to make it, but we’ve reached the semifinals of America’s Got Talent!
The final four acts to advance were acrobats Michael Lipari & Ashleigh Dejon, magician Michael Grasso, tiny dancers Anna & Patryk, and Howard Stern’s favorite act, kite flyer Connor Doran, whose poetic Tuesday night performance left Howie misty-eyed with pride. Did America (and the judges) get it right with these four Wild Card choices? Did Connor Doran bring tears to your eyes too?
Here’s the complete list of the Top 24 acts:

It was no surprise that 10-year-old Jackie Evancho advanced to the semifinals on America’s Got Talent last night. Her powerful, Susan Boyle-invoking performance was all the buzz yesterday, despite some skeptics who questioned if the booming sound was really her. Luckily, Howie Mandel took a moment away from his usual creepy schtick and defended Evancho, as well as all the other acts. “On this show no contestant is allowed to lip sync. It doesn’t happen!” he said. Little Jackie even sang on command to prove her legitimacy. Now are you convinced America?
Joining Evancho was magician Dan Sperry,...

Welcome back to 'America's Got Talent' (Wed., 9Pm Et on NBC). Sometimes, this seems like the most protracted, longest-running reality show in the history of the world. No offense, but at certain points, we kind of wonder if we're ever going to reach the finals. But maybe that's just us.
[Spoiler alert.]
At any rate, on tonight's episode, we get to learn the names of four more semi-finalists. But there's only one person that we really care about; and that's Jackie Evancho.
Sorry to be so partisan here, but we're completely on Team Jackie. The 10-year-old girl is kind of the best singer ever, and we want to see her make it to the finals. We can't hide our support for her; she's awesome. But yes, in non-Jackie-related-news, some other acts got moved along tonight -- including goth magician Dan Sperry and Maestro Alexander Bui.

Maestro Alexander Bui, Dan Sperry, Jackie Evancho and Kristina Young have become the YouTube acts to progress to the semi-finals of America's Got Talent's fifth season. Ten-year-old Jackie Evancho wowed America’s Got Talent viewers last night with her seriously grown-up voice. She won the YouTube popular vote to land on the show, and I wouldn’t be surprised if she won the whole thing. Behold:
Is there a certain…creepiness to it? Maybe. But the girl’s got some serious pipes.
Howie’s comments seemed to indicate that Jackie is supposed to be Agt’s Susan Boyle — its staggeringly popular breakout star, its crazy-viral hit. I’m skeptical, not because Jackie lacks talent but because perfectly packaged adorable blonde children can only surprise us so much.

The 'America's Got Talent' stage was turned over to YouTube last night. The 12 acts all came not from traditional 'Agt' auditions, but rather from the website that can make anyone a star.
There were memorable acts including singer Cam Hodges, a cappella group PLUtonic and magician Dan Sperry, but the only one that judge Piers Morgan wanted to talk about after the show was Jackie Evancho, a 10-year-old opera singer who got a standing ovation after her performance.
"She's the most exciting discovery we've had on this show in years," Morgan said. "I don't even want to talk about [other acts.] I can't even think about the others at the moment. I only want to talk about her. It's too exciting. I just thought she was amazingly good."
