Prosecutors say Arias killed Alexander in a fit of jealousy and rage after he broke off their relationship and wanted to see other women. Defense lawyer Kirk Nurmi countered Tuesday by citing Arias's clean criminal...

Jury selection for Jodi Arias’ sentencing retrial phase will begin Sept. 8, 2014, announced Judge Sherry Stephens on Monday, March 17.
Arias was found guilty of first-degree murder in May, 2013, for the 2008 murder of her boyfriend, Travis Alexander. The jury failed to reach a unanimous decision on whether or not Arias should face the death penalty or life in prison for her crimes, and, under Arizona law, another jury must be selected for a sentencing retrial.

Lifetime's 'Jodi Arias: Dirty Little Secret': 'She was deeply in love,' says director Jace Alexander
There was once a time that weeks or months or even years would pass between an incident and the movie made about it. But in a modern TV world of instant gratification, apparently now a story can be put on film before its climax has even happened in real life.
On May 8, a jury in Maricopa County, Ariz., returned a verdict of guilty on the charge of first-degree murder in the case of 32-year-old Californian Jodi Arias, a high-school dropout who pursued photography while working at a restaurant and in sales at PrePaid Legal Services.
On Saturday, June 22, Lifetime airs "Jodi Arias: Dirty Little Secret," a TV movie inspired by the case, which was in production during the latter phases of the trial. Tania Raymonde ("Lost," "Death Valley") stars as Arias, with Jesse Lee Soffer ("The Mob Doctor") as the victim, Travis Alexander.

A Phoenix jury on Thursday declared that it could not agree on whether to recommend death or life in prison for Jodi Arias for the 2008 slaying her lover, Travis Alexander. Arias, dressed in black, tearfully held her hand to her face as the jury's decision was read and Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Sherry Stephens set a June 20 hearing to prepare for a penalty-phase retrial that could start July 18. The mistrial does not undermine the jury's first-degree murder conviction. But a new jury, very possibly in a different city, will be asked to hear testimony only on the issue of...

Jodi Arias is one step closer to execution. The jury that convicted her last week of first-degree murder found on Tuesday that prosecutors proved "extreme cruelty" in the killing of Travis Alexander. Arias stared blankly as the jury's decision was announced. With this legal hurdle met, the Phoenix jury will now hear further testimony over whether Arias, 32, should be executed for the murder five years ago.
