Some people are worth melting for — especially the hot ones.
In the new trailer for Netflix’s holiday rom-com “Hot Frosty,” Christmas movie queen Lacey Chabert stars as a widow named Kathy, who magically brings a sexy snowman (“Schitt’s Creek” alum Dustin Milligan) to life. Through his naïveté, the snowman helps Kathy to laugh, feel and love again, as the two fall for each other just in time for the holidays … and before he melts.
At the end of the trailer, Chabert’s character is seen watching Lindsay Lohan’s 2023 Netflix holiday film “Falling for Christmas.” In a nod to their beloved 2004 flick “Mean Girls,” she quips, “That’s so funny. That looks just like a girl I went to high school with.”
Joe Lo Truglio and Craig Robinson bring some comedic relief as a pair of police officers, while Katy Mixon Greer, Lauren Holly, Chrishell Stause, Sherry Miller, Dan Lett,...

"Try to get to know him before you condemn him!" Paramount Pictures has debuted an official trailer for an indie political drama titled Georgetown, marking the feature directorial debut of Oscar-winning Austrian actor Christoph Waltz. This already premiered at the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival a few years ago, but has been waiting for a release ever since. It never played at any other festivals which is a bad sign, on top of the release delay. Waltz also stars in the film as Ulrich Mott, an ambitious social climber, who marries a wealthy widow in Washington D.C. in order to mix with powerful political players... and get his hands on her money. The film's impressive cast features Vanessa Redgrave, Annette Bening, Corey Hawkins, Laura de Carteret, Dan Lett, and Amin Bhatia. This seems like such a sleazy story, but I guess that's the point, examining the lengths some people go to...

"Now you're lying to the cops?" IFC Midnight has debuted a trailer for an indie psychological thriller titled Disappearance at Clifton Hill, which first premiered at the Toronto Film Festival last fall. The film follows a troubled young woman returning to her hometown of Niagara Falls, where the memory of a long-ago kidnapping overwhelms her. What happened to the young boy she saw being violently abducted in the woods? "Bristling with an air of surreal menace, this mood-drenched thriller is a tantalizing psychological puzzle box that unfolds in the hallucinatory realm between reality and perception." Starring Tuppence Middleton, Hannah Gross, Marie-Josée Croze, Eric Johnson, Andy McQueen, Noah Reid, Dan Lett, with David Cronenberg acting in it, too. This doesn't seem like anything worth writing home about. Here's the first official trailer for Albert Shin's Disappearance at Clifton Hill, direct from YouTube: After the death of her mother – Abby...

If you’re anything like me, you’re a pretty big fan of Ethan Hawke. Over the years, Hawke has been among the most consistent and interesting actors in Hollywood. He floats in and out of the studio system at ease, keeping a presence both in blockbusters occasionally as well as often in independent fare. It’s hard not to really admire the career of Hawke so far, and this Friday we have another outing of his to enjoy him in. This one is the musical biopic Born to Be Blue, which at one juncture was thought to be his ticket to another Academy Award nomination. This may or may not ultimately appeal to Oscar, but it’s one more reminder of just how great Hawke is, so now’s a great moment to appreciate him some more! The film is a biopic of sorts, focusing on the comeback that...

Title: Born To Be Blue Director: Robert Budreau Starring: Ethan Hawke, Carmen Ejogo, Callum Keith Rennie, Stephen McHattie, Janet-Laine Green, Tony Nappo, Kevin Hanchard, Dan Lett, Katie Boland, Nat Leone. The charm of Robert Budreau’s ‘Born to be Blue’ is that it is not a traditional biopic. The Canadian filmmaker gets inspired by Chet Baker’s life and creatively reimagines it, intertwining events that truly occurred to the jazz trumpeter, that don’t necessarily follow the true sequence they occurred in. The cinematic narrative is sprinkled with artistic license, that allows to fully captivate audiences in falling in love with a flawed hero. Ethan Hawke lights up the screen as Chet Baker, [ Read More ]
