Soul and R&b legend Charlie Wilson delivered a delightful, career-spanning set in the latest installment of NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series.
Wilson, a host of musicians, and a cadre of backup vocalists squeezed into the NPR offices for the performance, which opened an apt fitting introduction: “Charlie, Last Name Wilson,” the beatific title-track from Wilson’s 2005 album. After that, Wilson dipped into his deep catalog of classics and performed “Computer Love,” the 1986 single he made with Dayton funk greats Zapp and singer Shirley Murdock.

Babyface’s upcoming album is filled with some of the best female R&b and hip-hop stars. On Tuesday, the musician, born Kenny Edmonds, announced that he’s releasing his LP Girls’ Night Out on Oct. 29 — and it features the likes of Ari Lennox, Kehlani, Doechii and Queen Naija.
Also included on the album will be his single “Keeps on Fallin'” which features Ella Mai. (The two performed the track at Sunday’s BET Awards.)
The coming LP will be his first since signing with Capitol Records, and his 11th overall,...

When Anthony Hamilton, one of the last mainstream singers working in the southern soul tradition, releases his eighth studio album in 2021, it will mark the first time that the 49-year-old R&b veteran owns the rights to his music. “We’ve thought about this day since 2005,” says Eli Davis, Hamilton’s longtime manager. “You’re no longer a ‘slave’ to a system.”
Hamilton, whose tender, tortured “Back Together (Quiet Storm Mix)” is currently climbing at radio, is part of a growing number of R&b acts cutting ties with major labels.

Aubrey Plaza knows what it's like to have a stalker.
Et's Katie Krause spoke with the 33-year-old actress and her co-star, Elizabeth Olsen, at the Ingrid Goes West press junket held at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows in Santa Monica, California, on Thursday, where they spoke about having online stalkers and filming together.

In Ingrid Goes West, Plaza plays a crazed social media stalker who moves to Los Angeles to befriend her Instagram obsession Taylor Sloane (Olsen).
"I had kind of an online Twitter stalker, kind of, person that was around," Plaza told Et. "This was a couple years ago and then I was shooting a movie in Seattle and we found out that that person had applied to be an extra."
"Did you get a restraining order?" Olsen asked. "I don't remember," Plaza replied...

Blac Chyna just turned 29 on Thursday. But on Friday, the reality star traded in her birthday celebrations for wedding celebrations — partying the night away in Vegas at her “brother” Kim and “sissy” Kendra’s nuptials.
Dressed in a very low-cut long, strapless black gown with a deep sweetheart neckline and matching choker, Chyna looked to be having the time of her life as she posed for photos with the bride and groom — sharing a handful of shots of her look to Instagram and documenting the night extensively on Snapchat.

Last week, Sony announced a new subscription program for PlayStation Now, and while it is a step in the right direction, the service is still missing a lot of the classics that would make such a service desirable - especially on PS4. Since RPGs are my preferred genre, as well as the fact that outside of Nintendo most RPGs call PlayStation their home anyway, here are the 5 RPGs the service needs in order to bring me (and hopefully many others) on board.
Final Fantasy Tactics
The game is a classic, and at this point it's been ported to almost every Sony system imaginable, but that doesn't necessarily matter. If you're going to have a service like this, Tactics deserves to be there. The gameplay and Job system still hold up, and the graphics are still charming despite their age. I would include the redone PSP version's cinematics to boot.

Almost everyone has a cereal that directly ties to their youth, whether that be Trix, Cookie Crisps, Oat Bran (yeah, there was always that one family), etc. For me its Fruity Pebbles, which will always be tied to late night run throughs of Breath of Fire III, accompanied by the lovely sounds of K-Ci & JoJo's "All My Life."
Yeah, not sure where to go from there, so let's move on.
My early developing psychosis aside, Fruity Pebbles will always stir up fond memories, but can you imagine if Marvel Studios had been around back then? Marvel is not shy about putting their heroes on anything and everything, and cereal would be a no brainier. Turns out Crystal Fontan (Bamboota on Etsy) saw the same possibilities and created this adorable set of Marvel Super Hero themed cereal box art, which has been since turned into Tshirts. It's been more than a decade since the 1990s ended, yet the Internet can't seem to go a day without a reminder of the neon slap bracelets that may have been banned from your school.
Yes, we get it. Times are tough and there's comfort in reflection, but enough is enough.
Below, a final goodbye to the 90s to end the nostalgia once and for all. (We're not kidding. There are 1990 items below.)

Called "Knock It Off," the song is expected to be featured on the K-Ci & JoJo's upcoming studio album. The new track is classic K-Ci & JoJo: The brothers croon about their love over a slow beat, singing, "I'm loving your everything / I'll do anything to make you feel good." With just one more week before the live playoffs in Season 4 of "The Voice," it's time for the knockout rounds, wherein coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Shakira and Usher once again force one of their artists to compete another, deciding who stays and who goes. Who will make it to the live shows? Only time will tell.
First Knockout: Team Adam - Amber Carrington vs. Midas Whale
Songs: "I'm With You" - Avril Lavigne (Amber); "Higher Ground" - Stevie Wonder (Midas Whale)
Performances: Amber sounds incredible on Avril's overused and, at times, tepid track. It's nice to hear her step outside of the country zone we've heard her in thus far. I hadn't been too fond of Midas Whale prior to this, finding them to play more the role of backup artists in their battle rounds. It was nice to have them put down the guitars and put on a show.

In an episode of "Behind the Music" that aired Sunday night on VH1, singer Mary J. Blige opened up about the problems in her past and her struggles with childhood molestation, addiction and alcoholism.
"When I was five years old I was molested," she said in one of the most revealing interviews of her career. "I remember feeling, literally, right before it happened, I just could not believe that this person was going to do this to me. That thing followed me all my life. The shame of thinking my molestation was my fault. It led me to believe I wasn't worth anything."
In addition to talking about her past sexual abuse, the "Rock of Ages" star also opened up about her struggle with alcoholism. "It was bigger than me. And it was definitely going to kill me. So I was like, this is it and let's go. And I remember sitting on my bed.
