Morrissey has announced a new album, and it’s up for grabs to any label who wants it.
News of his forthcoming release, titled Without Music The World Dies, was shared via the musician’s Messages from Morrissey website on Monday (20 February).
According to the former Smiths frontman, the new record was recorded in France and features 10 new tracks, “described by [Morrissey’s co-writer and lead guitarist], Jesse Tobias as ‘a lightning strike’”.
However, the tracklist appears to give clues as to the overarching tone of the album – and it’s not a cheery one.
The ten tracks are listed as: “The Night Pop Dropped”, “Zoom Zoom The Little Boy”, “Boulevard”, “Headache”, “Without Music the World Dies”, “Suspicious Minds”, “Notre-Dame”, “Many Icebergs Ago”, “Happy New Tears” and “The Monsters of Pig Alley”.
As per the website, Morrissey wants anyone interested in releasing the new album to get in touch at an email provided.

Despite living a life in the public eye ever since “Jagged Little Pill” shot her into the limelight 17 years ago, Alanis Morissette has admirably kept her wounds open for all to see, as well as shared her joys. She seems amazingly aware of every emotion that flickers though her as fleeting as it may be and has no trepidation or judgment of them, only observation. She has plenty of joy and pain to share on the musically diverse “Havoc And Bright Lights,” produced by Guy Sigsworth and Joe Chiccarelli, and out Aug. 28. Since her last album, 2008’s “Flavors of...

Former keeper of Ryan Reynold’s affection, pop-rock singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette, is preparing to release a new studio album, her first since ‘08’s Flavors of Entanglement (which was inspired by her and Reynolds calling off their engagement).
Morissette’s newest effort will be her first release not on Warner Music Group with Collective Sounds releasing her seventh disc, Havoc and Bright Lights on August 28.
The "Ironic" singer seems to be taking a different (perhaps more current and commercial) direction with her latest release, teaming with UK producer Guy Sigsworth, an eclectic producer who has worked with Bjork, Madonna and helped start Seal’s career, and Joe Chiccarelli, who skews rock having helmed works for Young the Giant, The Strokes and Jazon Mraz, for the album.
We will have to wait until May 15 before the album’s first single, “Guardian,” becomes available on iTunes store (and four days later on radio). However,...

The Strokes haven't put out a new album in five years, but for a lot of people the band has been gone even longer. Though their debut album Is This It is an undisputed modern classic, their second and third releases (2003's Room on Fire and 2006's First Impressions of Earth) received mixed receptions and are generally disregarded by most rock fans. But the band's new album Angles is being received with a great deal more enthusiasm — rightfully so, considering it is simultaneously a throwback to their early sound and an amalgamation of the various solo projects that have taken up the individual members' time during the band's hiatus.
A lot of critics are already talking about Angles as one of the year's best releases. In a four-star review, Rolling Stone's David Fricke called Angles "the best album [the band] has made since 2001's Is This It, the cannonball that inaugurated the modern-garage era.

After enjoying a much-needed time off, The Strokes now come back with a new album called "Angles". Two years in the making, the new effort will make its way out across the United States on March 22. "Sonically, I feel it's the album which should have been made between 'Room on Fire' [2003] and 'First Impressions of Earth' [2006]," bassist Nikolai Fraiture once said.
The CD is led by a retro-sounding single "Under Cover of Darkness". Capturing the original feel of the band with a few tweaks to keep it up-to-date, the song got positive reviews from music critics and became a good kick-start for this rock band to introduce the rest of the album.
A Radiohead-esque track titled "You're So Right" was released to follow up the first single. Of the sinister-sounding tune, frontman Julian Casablancas told NME, "I had some early R.E.M. vibes for a minute or two. It's a darker one.

The Strokes have just revealed another new song from their upcoming album. Julian Casablancas and his bandmates showcased "Life Is Simple in the Moonlight" when coming to visit "Saturday Night Live" over the weekend.
Their Saturday night performance was introduced by Miley Cyrus who was tapped to host the sketch comedy show. They also performed "Under Cover of Darkness", the first single from the upcoming studio album "Angles".
A follow-up to 2006 "First Impressions of Earth", "Angles" will be released across United States on March 22. "It's what the record sounds like," guitarist Albert Hammond Jr. said to Rolling Stone. "It comes from five different people."
"Life Is Simple" is a song recorded with producer Joe Chiccarelli at Avatar Studios in New York. "He was trying to do as little editing as possible to the point where we were at take 70 of a song. It felt so strict," guitarist Nick Valensi recalled the session.
