After Calendar Girls, Bollywood's 'realistic' filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar is now reportedly all set with his next film titled Main, Indu. Even though there has been no official confirmation from Madhur Bhandarkar, media reports state that it is a strong female-oriented subject that has been set during the 21 months of the Emergency (which was between June 25, 1975-March 21, 1977). Reports also state that the film's main protagonist Indu has absolutely no reference to the (late) Indira Gandhi or any real-life character, instead, it's based on a stammering female poet who rebels against the system. Apparently, as a part of research, Madhur Bhandarkar is said to have met Bjp leader Lk Advani, political writers like Tavleen Singh, Coomi Kapoor and Kuldeep Nayyar. Besides them, he has also reportedly met a lot of communist people and also victims of emergency. While Madhur Bhandarkar was not reachable for his comments, you do watch this space for developments.
