When Behmen and Felson are putting on their helmets before the battle in the beginning of the movie, their chain mail coifs are down around their neck, not under their helmet as they should to protect the neck. Then the command is given and they start running towards the enemy. Once the two lines clash, and the fighting begins, Felson suddenly has his coif on while Behmen still has his down on his back.

When Felson fights the altar boy Kay he states "stand and fight like a man you little jackrabbit". The jackrabbit is indigenous to regions of North America not Europe so a crusader in medieval times would be unaware of them.

The crusader would also not be speaking modern English. This is a rough translation of the Middle English that was spoken in the Middle Ages.

When Felson is fighting Kay, the alter boy, they are stopped by Behman. When the fight ends, Felson's sword is in his left hand. When they break from each other, his sword is in his right.

Behman told Felson to use his left hand to even up the match.

The group is able to make a quick escape from the wolf pack because they left the horses attached to the wagon and all harnesses and equipment on the horses, which would be very bad for the horses.

Not escaping the wolves would be far worse for the horses.

The scene where Cardinal d'Ambroise is in bed has clearly been overdubbed. It would be impossible to speak flawlessly with a messed up mouth like his. Especially consonants like 'B' and 'M' would give the poor guy a hard time.

When Behmen stabs the woman in the battle fray at the beginning of the film, you can see the prop blade extend as he pulls it from her.

When presented the stricken Cardinal D'Ambroise, the bedside table displays pewter "pap boats". The trefoil handle and overall shape of the vessels are 18th century, and did not exist at the time of the Crusades.

At one point, the priest's injured hand is disinfected with liquor from a flask, but antisepsis would have been unknown in the 14th century.

When arriving to the monastery, modern pane glass windows can be seen. The technology for making flat glass did not exist until the early XIX century.

At the beginning of the movie, you can see the two main characters walking along the "Coast of Styria".

Styria doesn't have a coastline. It's part of Austria which is located in the very center of Europe.

The priest who gave them travel instructions underestimated the distance by a factor of 10.
