High school student Mary arrives home in a panic after her date with Jeff, that panic which Mary's mother can see. The issue is that while she really likes Jeff, she was ill-prepared for what looked like was going to happen when they decided to "park". While Jeff apologized profusely after the fact, Mary doesn't know if she even wants to see Jeff anymore. Mary's mother assures her that her feelings are all part of growing up, and that it may be wise for Mary to take a step back to allow herself the proper judgment as opposed to letting her emotions dictate the moment. While looking at couple friends Marge and Stu, and Eileen and Fred, the former who want to go and park because that's what all the kids are doing, and the latter who had to drop out of school to get married after Eileen became pregnant, as examples, Mary and Jeff may have some rational thought about their relationship, but may still get caught up in the moment, especially if opportunity presents itself.
