Ancient Aliens is an American television series that premiered on April 20, 2010 on the History channel. Produced by Prometheus Entertainment, the program presents hypotheses of ancient astronauts and proposes that historical texts, archaeology and legends contain evidence of past human-extraterrestrial contact. The series' pilot was a TV special of the same name that aired on March 8, 2009. The second season began on October 28, 2010, and the third season began airing July 28, 2011. Season four premiered on February 17, 2012 but on H2 instead of the History channel. In June 2012, Giorgio A. Tsoukalos announced on Coast to Coast AM that the series has been renewed for a fifth season. Season 5 premiered on December 21, 2012.

Ancient Mysteries is a television series originally broadcast on A&E between 1994 and 1998 with reruns airing until 2000. Reruns were also re-broadcast on The Biography Channel during the 2000s. The series deals with historical mysteries and is mostly hosted by Leonard Nimoy (unless otherwise noted) which recalls the late-1970s TV Series "In Search Of." As of December 2011, some episodes of this series were available on Netflix instant streaming.

The Show features personal, first-person accounts by notable actors, musicians and models. Celebrity Ghost Stories delivers a compelling, surprising and downright chilling look into the world of the paranormal by those who believe they have experienced the other side.

The show consists of five celebrity participants who are taken to a reported haunted location during the night and left until sunrise with the task of identifying paranormal activity. Upon arrival they are given a brief history of the location as well as other background information on past ghost sightings. The celebrities are left with specialist equipment such as infrared cameras and EMF meters. Surveillance cameras are set up all around to record what happens in the building that is to be investigated.

From 1999 to 2004, Edward was the producer and host of the show Crossing Over with John Edward, which has been syndicated and was broadcast on the Sci-Fi Channel in the United States and on Living TV in the UK. In Crossing Over, Edward gave readings to audience members. Readings in the show involve Edward questioning audience members with what is presented to him as information being communicated by their deceased friends and relatives. Edward receives images and clues from the Other Side which the audience must assist him in interpreting. The audience is asked not to supply Edward with any prior information about themselves, their family or whom they are trying to connect with. The format featured a host (John Marshall) and a team of reporters presenting 3 or 4 stories per episode dealing with UFOs, crop circles, exorcism, prophets, psychics, reincarnation, and other supernatural phenomena, in a news/documentary style. The stories unfolded through witness interviews and reenactments of the events. The host and reporters discussed their reactions to some of the stories.

Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files revolutionizes paranormal programming by uncovering the truth behind supernatural and unexplained occurrences that have been caught on camera. Ghost Lab is a weekly paranormal television series that premiered on October 6, 2009, on the Discovery Channel. The program is narrated by Mike Rowe and it follows ghost-hunting brothers Brad and Barry Klinge, who founded Everyday Paranormal (EP) in October 2007. Everyday Paranormal is a paranormal investigation team whose stated mission is to "visit the most haunted places in America, find evidence, and test new theories to probe the existence of the afterlife" using a fringe-scientific approach.

Ghost Stories is a paranormal television series that premiered on October 16, 2009 on the Travel Channel. Each episode showcases stories, legends and tales of different reportedly haunted locations in the United States. The series is narrated by Jay Thomas, a television and film actor best known for his Emmy-award winning role as Jerry Gold on Murphy Brown. Each episode combines historical footage, re-enactments, and interviews with eyewitnesses and local historians to tell ghost stories from personal experiences, encounters and paranormal activity in a haunted location.

This short-lived program comprised three primetime specials that featured re-enactments of ghost stories told by real people who experienced paranormal activity. The docudrama series used actors and special effects, and then introduced the witnesses who reported such phenomena. The series was developed for television by Bruce Nash and Allan Zullo, authors of the popular book series, Haunted Kids: True Ghost Stories.

History's Mysteries was an American documentary television series on the History Channel. The 154 episodes of the series were produced from 1998-2006. Each season consisted of 12 to 14 one-hour episodes that focused on historical events or subjects considered to be mysterious by the general public. Episodes typically begin with a broad overview of the subject followed by what is accepted as a common explanation. During the main segments, experts on both sides of the issue present their evidence and opinions. Subjects covered on the show ranged from the beginning of human history to modern subjects such as Carlos the Jackal, The Amityville Horror, and Area 51, as well as political conspiracies and conspiracy theories such as MK ULTRA and the JFK Assassination. Common aspects of history covered on the show include religion, crime, the supernatural, archaeology, mythology, and folklore.

Horizon is a current and long-running BBC popular science and philosophy documentary program which explores topical scientific issues and their effects for the future. Horizon continues to be broadcast on BBC Two, and in 2009 added a series of films based on the rich Horizon archive called 'Horizon Guides' on BBC Four.

"I Survived... Beyond and Back" reveals one of life's greatest mysteries by profiling the extraordinary stories of people who have literally passed on to the other side. In Search Of... is a television series that was broadcast weekly from 1976 to 1982. The program conducted investigations into the controversial and paranormal (e.g., UFOs, Bigfoot, and the Loch Ness Monster). Additionally, it featured episodes about mysterious historical events and personalities such as Anna Anderson/Grand Duchess Anastasia, the Lincoln Assassination, the Jack the Ripper murders, infamous cults (e.g. Jim Jones), and missing persons, cities, and ships (e.g., Amelia Earhart, Jimmy Hoffa, D. B. Cooper, the Mary Celeste, the Titanic, the lost Roanoke Colony). Because the show often presented offbeat subjects and controversial theories, each episode's opening credits included a verbal disclaimer about the potentially conjecturable nature of the evidence and theories to be presented: "This series presents information based in part on theory and conjecture. The producer's purpose is to suggest some possible explanations, but not necessarily the only ones, to the mysteries we will examine." Reruns of the series aired during the early 1990s on the A&E Network. In the latter 1990s, the show aired on another of the A&E Television Networks' properties, The History Channel. The licensing agreement expired in the early 2000s, ending the show's run.

Is It Real? is an American television series that originally aired from April 25, 2005 to August 14, 2007 on the National Geographic Channel. The program examines popular or persistent mysteries to determine whether the featured cryptozoological creature (cryptid) or supernatural phenomenon is real or not. The show typically includes interviews with proponents of the featured paranormal claims, and then with scientists and skeptics who attempt to find rational explanations for such phenomena using a scientific approach. The program has been criticized as being heavily biased towards the skeptical perspective because it usually concludes debunking or finding mundane explanations for the claims.

It's a Miracle is a television show that aired on PAX-TV (now ION Television) between September 6, 1998 and September 1, 2004. Initially hosted by Billy Dean and Nia Peeples and then Richard Thomas, and later by Roma Downey, it explored case studies of people who experienced perceived miracles during their lifetime. The show format could be altered to fit into half-hour or hour-long slots, varying the number of case studies shown in each episode as needed.

Edward's current show, John Edward Cross Country, has been broadcast on We TV, since March 2006. In this forum, the audience is not supposed to supply Edward with any prior information about themselves, their family or whom they are trying to connect with "on the other side." According to Edward, he simply "lets his guides draw him to the people that spirits are trying to connect with, and the audience should only validate the information he gives them". In each episode, after a reading Edward is filmed visiting the person or people whose reading was televised, along with their families, to see how the experience had changed their lives. During the first season of Cross Country, Edward traveled across the US, giving readings to large audiences in public venues. In subsequent seasons, the show has been broadcast from a set similar to that used for Crossing Over.

Long Island Medium is an American reality documentary television series on TLC that debuted on September 25, 2011. Based in Hicksville, New York, the series stars Theresa Caputo, who is a medium who communicates with the deceased. The series follows her life as she juggles clients and her family. Each episode focuses on Theresa Caputo as she conducts private and group readings, with both believers and skeptics. Her husband Larry and two children, Victoria and Larry Jr., have learned to live with her mediumship, but it can be tugging on their relationships. Especially when messages from the dead spontaneously interrupt dinner, visits to the dentist or grocery shopping trips. Caputo claims she has the ability to communicate with people who have died. "Things are just there," she says. "When I was younger I used to actually see images and hear things. As I got older and shut down, it had changed. Because it was frightening to see people standing there who actually weren’t there. For me now, I feel spirit

Most Haunted is a British paranormal mystery documentary reality television series. The series was first shown on 25 May, 2002 and ended on 21 July, 2010. Led by Yvette Fielding, the program investigated reported paranormal activity in many locations in the UK, Republic of Ireland and other countries. In the United States it was broadcast on the Travel Channel. In 2012, Antix Productions partnered with Lionsgate to redevelop Most Haunted.

Mysterious Journeys is a paranormal television series that aired on the Travel Channel. Similar to Weird Travels and In Search Of. The show explores a variety of paranormal topics covering everything from ghosts, monsters, and UFOs to strange disappearances and historical locations. The show is usually presented through interviews, reenactments and scene footage, with narration by Erik Todd Dellums. The show premiered on March 20, 2002 and ran a limited 4 episode season, halting production until 2007 when an additional 10 episodes aired. The show has since halted production and it is unknown if any further episodes will air, as there is little to no information available on the Travel Channel's website.

The show has also aired on the WE: Women's Entertainment network in the USA, Discovery Channel in the UK (series 1–3) and CBS reality (series 3–5) UK. The series follows the trials and tribulations of acclaimed and quirky international psychics, who make house calls, as they ask ghostly spirits to leave.

Ripley's Believe It or Not! is a documentary television series based on the newspaper feature. The series ran from 1982 to 1986 on the American ABC network. Character actor Jack Palance hosted the popular series throughout its run, while three different co-hosts appeared from season to season, including Palance's daughter, Holly Palance, actress Catherine Shirriff, and singer Marie Osmond. The 1980s series reran on the Sci-fi Channel (UK) and Sci-fi Channel (US) during the 1990s. In the 2000s, a new series was produced for TBS with actor Dean Cain and field correspondent Kelly Packard as hosts. Each new episode opens with an act involving the audience. The show also features such regular elements as "Spot the Not," a weekly trivia segment in which viewers are challenged to pick the claim that is not real and a special "Ripley's Record" commemoration for people who break a world record while appearing on the show.

Sensing Murder is a television series in New Zealand, Australia, and the United States, in which psychics are asked to act as psychic detectives to help provide evidence that might be useful in solving famous unsolved murder cases in each country by communicating with the deceased victims. Each episode included detailed reenactments of the events leading up to the murder and the murder itself. To demonstrate their abilities, the psychics relay their impressions about the case/person which may match details in the case file. The psychics are then asked to provide any extra information they can using their psychic abilities. The show's private detective hosts the next section, in which he is asked to try to investigate any new leads suggested by the psychics and sometimes talk to the families of the deceased.

Sightings is a paranormal and news television series that originally aired from 1992 to 1997. The show featured everything from UFOs to ghosts to Bigfoot in an investigative news format and was hosted by reporter Tim White. The series began on Fox in 1992 (the first Paramount Television production ever to air on that network), in a 30 minute long format that aired on Friday nights. When the show was put into syndication in 1994, it was extended to an hour long format and was on at various times. In 1996, it was picked up by Sci Fi Channel. Sightings was cancelled in 1997 (although five special episodes aired in 1998), and reruns continued on the Sci Fi Channel until April 2003.

Unsolved History is an American documentary television series that aired from 2002 to 2005 on the Discovery Channel. The series lasted over three seasons and had a total of 47 episodes, in which a team of people, each with different skills, try to solve historical mysteries. As of 2007, the series airs on Investigation Discovery and occasionally on the Science Channel. However, episodes regarding the military are sometimes aired on the Military Channel. Each episode contains an event in history that has never been conclusively solved. In every episode, a team of scientists tries to solve the case.

Weird U.S. is a reality television series, and book of the same name, on the History Channel starring Mark Moran and Mark Sceurman, founders of the magazine Weird NJ, as they hunt the United States looking for weird history, hauntings, and legends because, as they say, "history is full of weirdos." It is produced by KPI TV. It is also a series of paranormal travel guides edited by the same two individuals.

James van Praagh's early career consisted of private readings for clients by communicating with the spirits of their dearly departed, and quickly graduated to wider audiences. In the early 1990s he began appearing on the NBC paranormal talk show The Other Side, where he became a resident expert. Van Praagh credits an appearance on Larry King Live in 1997 to promote his new book Talking to Heaven for his gaining worldwide exposure. He has been featured on The Oprah Winfrey Show, Larry King Live, Dr. Phil, A&E’s Biography, Nightline, Unsolved Mysteries, The View, The Joy Behar Show, the Today, Chelsea Lately, and Coast to Coast. He worked with a non-profit called The Compassionate Friends, an organization for people who lost children or siblings. He is also a regular blogger for The Huffington Post.
