- The Acme Oil Company is offering its dealers a prize of a vacation in Hawaii if their dealers double their sales in a month. Goober goes all out and doubles his sales only to discover that the contest starts the following month.
- A representative from the Acme Petroleum Company visits Goober's gas station. He is very unimpressed with Goober's efforts and wants changes or Goober may be out of a job.
- With Andy getting married, Aunt Bee is planning to leave Mayberry and live with her sister out-of-state. Sam suggests she move onto the farm with him and his son, Mike. Various members of the community talk to Aunt Bee, telling her how important she is to the town, and convincing her to reevaluate her decision.
- Andy and Helen return to Mayberry for a visit and bring their new baby, Andy Jr. with them. They want to christen their child in Mayberry and want to have Sam act as Godfather. This hurts the feelings of Howard, Goober, and Emmett whom all feel they are more qualified. A somewhat unorthodox compromise is arranged.
- After a conversation with Mike, Aunt Bee realizes it is time for the ship cruise she's always wanted. The town get wrapped up in her preparations and see it as a chance for her to land a man.
- Aunt Bee arrives home from her cruise with the exciting new she is engaged to be married to the captain of the ship she was on. Some of the townsfolk express concerns about the captains real motivation.
- Emmett breaks his arm and realizes that he can't work with his arm in a cast. He takes on Ernie to help but soon realizes Ernie is better at fixing things than he is and wonders if he should quit.
- Emmett overhears what he thinks is a sure fire stock tip. He decides to pawn Martha's engagement ring and use the proceeds to invest in what he thinks is a can't miss deal.
- Emmett is about to turn 50. The town and his family are keen to organize a party. However Emmett becomes increasingly negative about both his up coming birthday and party.
- The town is in an uproar when Emmett announces he is retiring, leaving the town with no repair facilities.
- Goober meets a woman at the telephone company and takes her out on a date. An incident at the restaurant makes her the hero, and not him, which wounds his pride.
- Goober's brother is returning to Mayberry to visit him. He hopes his brother will be impressed with his accomplishments but those hopes are soon dashed when he discovers his brother is an important engineer for the space program.
- Goober opens his gas station in a new location closer to Mayberry. Things become complicated when dinosaur bones are discovered on the site.
- Goober's niece comes for a visit and he still expects the young girl he's used to seeing. But she's now a teenager and Goober can't get used to the fact she's growing up.
- Sam is concerned with the corn crop ready for harvest. Sherriff Andy hears of a scheme to help rehabilitate released prisoners. With some reservation Sam agrees to take on two of the men to help with the harvest. To the men's surprise the town embraces them and seems unconcerned about their former life, until some money seems to go missing
- Howard's developing relationship with Grace leads him to want to explore her hobbies and interests. Unfortunately her choice of interests may challenge Howard on every level.
- Howard is commissioned to write a poem for a literary magazine. He is very proud and excited at the prospect of being published. Writer's block spoils his happiness and frustration soon takes over.
- Mike is planning on having a birthday party with no girls invited. His party falls on the same day as Sally's party...but she is inviting boys. The boys are all set to go to Mike's until Sally starts bribing them with great prizes.
- Mike is excited to be going to a big league baseball game. Sam has put conditions on him being allowed, but it remains to be seen if he can live up to the challenge.
- Sam tells Millie that he and Howard are going camping and suggests Millie come along. She hates camping and refuses to go until she finds out another attractive woman is also going on the trip.

Charlie is a golf pro at one of the clubs and agrees to give Millie a few lessons. Charlie's a bit of a flirt and makes a pass at Millie. When she tells Sam he just laughs it off and Millie becomes furious. She believes she is being taken for granted and comes up with a plot to make Sam jealous.
- Millie has a girlfriend, Renee, visiting from New York who has recently broken up with her long time boyfriend. Millie gets sick and asks Sam to show Renee around and keep her busy. Unfortunately, Renee interprets Sam's kindness the wrong way and begins to find herself attracted to him.
- Milie is given the opportunity to travel to New York City and be a model. She is excited and accepts the offer. Sam is happy for her but it isn't long before he starts to have misgivings and he's off to NYC himself.
- Millie is enrolled in the Bradbury Business College to hone her secretarial skills and get a better job. She passes and discovers through several interviews that getting a job is going to be harder than she thought. She finally lands a job with two men in the magazine subscription business. Little does she realize, however, that she is actually working for two bookies and the magazine subscription business is a front for their illegal gambling.
- At the county fair, Millie is crowned Miss Farmerette to the great joy of Mayberry. In winning the contest, she attracts the attention of an ex-Hollywood talent agent wanting to get back to the top.
