Warning: Spoilers
Logan, Jessica, and Rem are trying to evade Francis and his partner who are drawing closer to them thanks to a superior solar vehicle equipped with greater velocity. What helps Logan is that Francis' solar vehicle isn't as well equipped for rough terrain, so off-road he's able to get some distance between them. Rem senses an energy source nearby, with them locating a complex embedded in a mountain, finding a robot inside along with a beautiful telekinetic 19 year old, Lisa(Lisa Eilbacher; many might know her as the older daughter of Charles Bronson's cop in 10 TO MIDNIGHT). Lisa has never known human contact and becomes enamored with the handsome Logan, wanting him to stay with her instead of leaving eventually for "sanctuary" where the other runners might be waiting. When Lisa admits her adoration for Logan, and he, while flattered, doesn't want to hurt her feelings(understanding that as a lonely girl, Lisa hasn't had the fortune of falling in love or friendship, but also aware that she is vulnerable due to her naiveté), she responds not so well. You see, Lisa can "put you away" sending those she doesn't like into a dark place, a sort of limbo, her mind has created, and soon Jessica(who she eventually sees as a rival for Logan's affections), along with Rem(who she also sees as a threat)are moved there. When Logan demands for his friends to return, Lisa contemplates handing him over to Francis and the other Sandmen trying to figure out a way into the complex. I think THE INNOCENT shows how Logan's Run the series was meant to appeal to a family audience with it's inclusion of two robots, one of which Rem argues over trivial things. Eilbacher is really easy on the eyes, and one could imagine happily remaining with her together in that compound, finding time for plenty of activities, if you catch my drift. Like other episodes in the series, we see how others besides Francis and the Sandmen, are possible threats to Logan, Jessica, and Rem, even if eventually our heroes are able to worm their way out of difficult circumstances time and again.
