Behind the Action in 'Biker Boyz' (2003)
Funnier than the film itself
I am a motorcyclist, yes. And I enjoyed the bikes in the movie. Other than that, the whole Biker Boyz flick was krrrrrap. A heap of ugly, smelly, ochre, oozing pile of krrrap. Even the name of the movie is an insult to the potential motorcycling moviegoer. "Hey! Pick this movie! You know, we weren't sure if you had enough brain cells left in that crash-wrecked head of yours so we played it safe and aptly named it -TA-DA!- Biker Boyz!"
On the other hand, the Making of was surprisingly entertaining. The narrating by the 'Soul train' character really fits well into this one and the makers have chosen just the right pieces of the movie to feature some very funny bits when put deliberately out of context. I respect that the filmmakers duly give credit to the real bikers and Michael Gougis, whose newspaper article about biker groups inspired this film.
Why oh why did they have to make such an excrement of a flick when all the ingredients for it were the state of the art?
