Lucifer (2016)
3 stars season 6 only
Lucifer, seasons 1-4, real good. Season 5, ok. Season 6, one too many. It seems silly to say a series about the Devil coming to earth to be a better...devil is over the top, but that is how it is. It is way too much dialogue, corney, cheesey and most of all boring. OK, I get that it is trying to wrap things up but Boooo! Too bad, it was so good.
Modern Love: How Do You Remember Me? (2021)
I can help, and I'm not judging.
What you thought of this episode depends more on you than the content. We are progressing but many will find it too gay. I think the ratings are low because of this. The reviews are good because of those defending it. The whole second season has woke to not being entertaining, but politically correct.
Master of None (2015)
Seems to have lost its way.
Watched it for a while and didn't even know if it was the same show, and what's with the 4:3 format. Really liked it before. Kind of like the 3rd season of "Brockmire"...what the Hell are you trying for? Time to return to what got you there.
Tell Them Willie Boy Is Here (1969)
I wonder how this would be looked at today?
Just watched this 6/2021 on a free preview of Starz. Blake and Ross play Native Americans. I think with their makeup they have been "tinted" a little. I can't find any complaints about it but can you imagine how this would play out today? Not much of a movie review, is it? Remember, it was made 50 years ago and looks it.
Wrath of Man (2021)
Not the greatest
Too long, drawn out, boring or confusing, I can't decide. Found myself hoping it would end. No real "moment" at all. Statham typical dark, brooding self which usually works for me. Not this time. I can't give you one good reason to watch it.
New Amsterdam (2018)
I see it's popularity is going down...
No surprise here. Was a very good show, has become typical of network tv. Max has become a little too weird. Everything is just so...woke (I said that in another review but it holds true here too). Its all the buzz words of today rolled into one. Too bad, but I'm still watching. Everything else is the same way it all is.
Vida (2018)
Very good while walking the soft core porn line.
Ok, so I'm an old white guy. I love this show as it makes me uncomfortable with what happens. I think I probably don't understand everything and I don't think I am suppose to, but every episode has a gratuitous sex scene. Not complaining, just sayin'. It is a watcher.
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (1999)
Heading in the wrong direction
Have always enjoyed the show but this season it has become way too "woke". I see the biased crap they are pushing on the news every day, I don't need it on a tv show I am watching for enjoyment.
What Lies Below (2020)
Just a heads up so you can make a decision
The rating is 5 just because its half of 10. What you need to know is this is a SCIENCE FICTION movie, not a thriller, and it takes about an hour to finally see that. The storyline that says "make him look like he's not human at all" is not at all true, he just looks good. The movie is kinda weak.
Nomadland (2020)
Depends on what you are looking for.
So Golden Globe winner, Academy Award nominee, artistic, visionary, blah, blah, blah. Its the same old sh... It is everything but entertaining. Its Roma in English. Maybe I just don't get it.
Last Man Standing: Lost and Found (2021)
When a comedy stops becoming a comedy.
When I want to hear about social justice I'll watch the news. The only difference is Larabee didn't resist arrest and didn't get shot in the process. So disappointing to cave like this. If the networks keep this stuff up Netflix, Prime, and the BBC will start taking even more viewers away. This title could have been called "Last Time Watched Standing". See ya!!
Last Man Standing (2011)
Rating is the average of all season's.
Just started watching season 9 because it had restarted and I didn't know it. It is everything but funny. 9 years is a long time for a show like this and this is no exception. The new Mandy doesn't fit but they have "undumbed" her a little for this season. Allen, Elizondo and Jonathan Adams are good. Haven't seen Leno this season but he was awful. If you are just finding this show, watch. Its solid for at least 5 seasons.
Cobra Kai (2018)
Good, with cheese
Good, fun show, but 8.6...aaah, no. Needs a little less cheese to be rated that high. Not saying its not enjoyable, just not epic.
The Christmas Chronicles: Part Two (2020)
Sign of the times
The first one was rated 7.1 and this one 6.2? More like 8.0 and 5.0. The attempts to make movies (like this one) and tv shows politically correct, socially conscious, and diverse is going to ruin the entertainment business. Just let the pieces fall where they may. The mighty dollar may have the last word.
Episodes (2011)
Very funny show
I'll give you the very simple synopsis of this show. In "Friends" Matt LeBlanc plays Joey Tribbiani. In "Episodes" Joey Tribbiani plays Matt LeBlanc. Very funny show.
Preacher (2016)
Should be rated season by season
First off, I had no idea this is based on a comic book or a book series so I am not tainted by that. I watched 2 1/2 seasons. It was fine for a while but it just got a little too carried away for me. Not sure what genre I would call it: fantasy, comedy, drama with a health dose of grossness? Can't compare it to anything that comes to mind. Maybe it got better later, but I'm out.
Black Is King (2020)
It all averages out in the end.
Self indulgent terd. It averages out to a 5 but most of the reviews are a 1 or a 10. The 10's would have given it a 10 if it was Beyonce taking a dump and the 1's are probably just tired of all this. The only way you can a feel for how it is you have to have a free review forum...like this!
Palm Springs (2020)
OK, but not more than ok.
I won't try to explain the plot or the "Groundhog Day" similarities, I'll just try to rate it. I think its rated a bit too high. Its ok, but not that funny. I guess I'd give it a look but don't expect anything great to happen. Most of the humor is in the first 15 minutes.
Space Force (2020)
It helps if you know what to expect.
Steve Carell is really a funny guy with a lot of range. This is a funny, silly show that doesn't take itself too seriously. Compared to his "Morning Show" portrayal of Matt Lauer its day and night, and John Malkovich is always good. I like it.
9-1-1: Lone Star (2020)
Depends on what you are expecting
Ok, I can help. This show is really a comedy with a healthy dose of cliche's and stereotypes. If you are expecting a take off of "Chicago Fire" you will be disappointed. If you want to give it a try stick your tongue firmly in your cheek and fire it up and don't forget your hair products.
Hart of Dixie (2011)
Kick your shoe's off, sit back, and set a spell.
Cute, light hearted little show. Just enjoyable, no messages, no teaching, just fun. After 4 season's it had pretty much run its course and it ended in a spectacular, fun way. Check it out.
Bird Box (2018)
What the...
I like Sandra Bullock but I'm not sure what just happened. Too long, kinda slow, loose ends, redundant. Can you tell I didn't like it? I kept waiting for something significant to happen and it just didn't. I like that it was on Netflix.
