Red Christmas (2016)
Very BAd
The only reason I watched this movie is that it was christmas and that I felt like watching a horror movie instead of the usual boring christmas movies. Now the so called boring christmas movies all look like award winning movies after watching this garbage. It's not even a good slasher for people who like that genre. The acting is below average if not to say sometimes very bad. The story, I didn't expect much of it honestly being it a slasher, is even worse than I thought it would be. The story-line is so boring and badly written it makes you cringe. There is only one advice that I can give you and that is avoid at all cost!
Contracted (2013)
Don't see this film
A dismal attempt to make horror art film. I'm not really sure could ever work, even with a good script, which this most certainly lacks. This somber downer takes itself way too seriously. There is literally not a single laugh, giggle, or even a smile throughout.
Cargo (2013)
Really Good
I recommend this film to viewers who are interested in character development, great cinematography, a well written script, and a solid meaningful ending. Please don't come into this movie expecting The Walking Dead/ Zombieland type of action film because this isn't it.
It Follows (2014)
Amazing!
It follow is the film that finally shows an emotional side to horror films. This movie is not about killing all the characters. I think that it has a least four excellent performances. The film is also dark which perfectly captures its tone. I think that people need to go into this movie with an unbiased mind and it could really be enjoyed.
The Unraveling (2015)
More of a drama, and well worth watching
To my surprise this film pulled off drama better than most indie horror films I've seen. This film had a human element to it, where I felt like I was living the experience with Michael. It is a story of the human experience of life, love, and addiction. They do a profound job telling this story, taking their time with cinematic shots, dramatic and emotional music, and effective dialogue. A few parts fell flat but overall grab the popcorn, but don't expect just an edge of your seat thriller it was also heartfelt and well delivered.
