The Blacklist: Minister D (No. 99) (2019)
Season 6, Episode 9

Best episode since 2013
24 February 2019
So Katarina Rostova is the 'devil', not even Red the impostor. Please, dear writers of this greatest show on earth, show us who the real Raymond Reddington is. Since Sima is proceeding to try Red for the next indictments after we learn that Red isn't guilty of treason, we're stuck with Season 6 having Red battle for his freedom. I once said I love the Judge, now I dislike her. She seems to be bias. Why is everybody in a rush to kill Red?

Now, Liz wants Dembe to keep her secret that Red is behind bars because of her asinine quest for the truth.

Who doesn't love James Spader?
24 February 2019
Jennifer and Liz get in soup trying to kidnap the nurse who they think did the surgery for Red, and since they can't go to the Task Force, Liz goes to wake Red from his dream of "two mermaids, a sea cucumber and an octopus" at 3 A.M. Ressler hires a girlfriend from Alter Ego. Who doesn't love James Spader?

Filled with Gore Gore and Gore
24 February 2019
Aside the gore, gore, gore, gore, and gore, I'd seen this movie's plot before in T. P. Henson's Proud Mary (Even though POLAR's an adaptation of a comic). Duncan Vizla seeks redemption by 'taking care' of the only surviving family member of an entire family he wiped out. Only this time the role is masculinized for the assassin, and feminized for the victim.

Redder!
18 February 2019
The 6th season gets redder by the episode. How long will Red battle for his life in court? Anyways, we await the decision of the jury. Plus, the judge seems to be a lovely woman. And why wasn't Red given a jury of his peers? And I'm yet to understand how Red used up all his peremptory strikes. Soon, we'll see what's up the sleeves of the writers of this show.

A magnificent cinematic rollercoaster
6 February 2019
Peppermint, an action movie that doesnt disappoint. At some point I felt she was the female version of Denzel Washington's character in "The Equalizer". I loved the fact that the revenge was served cold. For Chrissakes, the husband didn't even steal from the drug lord. What he would have done was beat him and let him go at least but he decided to take everything that could ever make her (Riley North) happy. The drug Lord broke the 19th law of the 48 Laws of power.

Red vs Liz
3 February 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Oh Liz, sorry for you. Now that Red has said the anonymous tip's fate is sealed, what do you hope to gain? What exactly? You forget that, in the past, you've also committed crimes, even murders which Red knows about but you're unaware of? Revenge has eaten this once-beautiful soul of Liz, and I doubt if any part of her can be salvaged. If Red is tried for all his alleged crimes, won't your worms crawl up the can? I honestly doubt. Red is a fighter and Dembe is loyal as fate is proving to be a friend. The Judge is a lovely woman. I do like her. Samar, oh Samar, get the help you need ASAP. Red will rise!

Refreshing
19 January 2019
Refreshingly soothing to know that Red is still in charge even from behind bars. And Liz I'm sorry for her and her half-sister. I can't imagine what Red would do to Ms Keen's half-sister because she, in fact, did plant the idea in her head. Dembe is ever loyal - the kind of friends we need in life. That rodent deserves an award. What a means of communication! I pray Samar gets help quick. Instead of 911, she dialled 119. An ailment, any illness, is nothing to be ashamed of but stigma and bias shame us all.

Liz versus Reddington
13 January 2019
As the seconds progress, the character of Liz transforms into an "unlikeable" idiot. It is the one closest to you always holding the knife. I'd say I hate Liz but "hate" is a strong word. Liz becomes annoying by the nanosecond. The quest for revenge has eaten her soul up that there is nothing left to salvage. She can't be saved. I doubt she can. Reddington is still my man. To hell with Liz and the truth she's trying to unearth. I get she blames Red for the death of her husband, Tom. In my opinion, Tom should have kept his nosw outta Red's business. He was warned. This show better deal with this fast. It's becoming sickening.

Stupendous! Awesome! Beautifully cinematic!
6 January 2019
This episode took me by surprise. Red in prison. Let's see how this show goes. I'm invested in this. But for Liz, when Red finds out that she set him up, from Sia's Elastic Heart, these are the words I imagine Red's face saying:

/But there were so many red flags/ /And let's be clear, I trust no one/

/It's hard to lose a chosen one/ /YOU DID NOT BREAK ME/ /BUT YOU WON'T SEE ME FALL APART/

Like a Phoenix from the ashes, Red will rise.

Stupendously done!
17 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I was impressed that the UK Film Council went ahead and did this movie despite Britain's ugly history in Kenya. Oliver Litondo and Naomi Harris deserve an ovation every morning. PTSD is real; despite, Maruge broke through. An excellent cinematic and historic piece! You make me proud to be a Capricorn, Maruge!

Politics as usual...
29 October 2018
...and Secretary McCord made my day when she said "democracy is flawed." And how she travelled 8000 miles from D.C. to Philippines to make Philippines' president release the USA's war dead... to the smiling with the weak president of Philippines who was holding her fallen heroes and secretly begging for foreign aid. Thumps up to M'Sec show. She doesn't disappoint. Lest I forget to add, the white blouse and black pants, are they uniforms for the Secretary of State?

Before you echo AMEN to your home and place of worship, think and remember, a child is listening...
28 October 2018
Prayers for Bobby, I'd be dropping this quote from Brandy as my review.

"What I feel being a human being is, is just having the freedom to be yourself. Not caring what other people think. Just having the freedom to be you and not being afraid because if you're not yourself, who are you?"

QED!

Embrace the good news here!
27 October 2018
Thank you Elizabeth Banks. You rock. Yes, the world also brings good news. Meghan Miles (played by Elizabeth Banks) gets drunk, gets in bed with a stranger, her car is towed, finds herself in 'the hood', and because she is in a not-so-conservative dress everybody calls her a hooker even though she denies it repeatedly, they put it to her. She is even called a temptress and witch when she strays into a den of rabbis. Pushed down from a bus by a female bus driver and haunted down by the police, life, in same manner, beats her down repeatedly (can life go wronger than this?)...but she rises like a Phoenix from the ashes

And when she finally returns to work, she chooses to not report the 'fake news' script but instead tells the truth and life finally smiles on her. The world sure brings good news.

Thank you Ms. Banks for teaching us to be ourselves. Lest I forget, nothing is wrong with the yellow dress. I love it.

Kisses!

Finely done.

Tongue, written and directed by Osayande Agbontaen, I will interprete in four words: the law of attraction. I recommend this film. It made me go back to my archives to dig up Bob Proctor's works.

Timely...
27 October 2018
A political thriller that's been long overdue out of Africa's Giant, Nigeria. Cinematography was crystal. Star-studded, the acting was top-notch and touched on issues bedevilling Nigeria as a nation. Also, released at a time prior to the 2019 General elections in Nigeria, 'If I Am President' will be a handmaid in enlightening and educating Nigerians, Africans, even the globe on the technicalities and ideologies holding sway in Nigeria - and why the office of the President of Nigeria (PON) is for those who do not play by the rules as is obtained in other 'sovereigns'.

However, one thing that 'If I Am President' delivers is hope. What can we do if not be hopeful? Perchance, it's the reason a synonym for Nigerians is 'resilience'.

I also liked the fact that in this movie, women are brought to the forefront - a woman, played by ace actress, Joke Silva, vies for the office of PON.

Mixed feeling...
23 October 2018
Now, I think I should write this review. Don't know where my loyalty lies. Perchance, owes to the fact that I'm a novelist and screenwriter myself. Half my body, that is from the head to waist, says E L James should have let the original version of the screenplay come alive on screen while the other half, this is my waist to my soles, says Kelly Marcel should be thankful that the novelist, upon whose work her screenplay was based, worked on her adaptation to ensure that a 'faithful adaptation' was produced. I still don't know.

Real cinematic material
22 October 2018
This was something different from what held sway in mermaids and mermen stories - the love, the darkness, the politics, the struggle. Twas not just a conflict between men and the supernatural, in this case the ocean and her fullness thereof. It was a conflict between man and his innerself - in believing if these creatures really exist. And yes, there is always something beyond our physical world whether we want to acknowledge it or not. This is the story that SIREN treads. It was brave of the cast and crew, and now I wish I had supernatural powers to fast forward to January of 2019 when it kickstarts its second season. Love y'all.

Hopeful
22 October 2018
The Rake, M'Sec's fifth season's third episode offered so much on issues affecting the USA as well as the world ranging from the US' Criminal Justice system to the unfair working conditions in China. Of a truth, if China wants to be a leader in the 21st century, it needs to step up and do the needful. Thank you Barbara Hall. I love you, even Tea Leoni. Shalom.

I'm not one to sit before a ghost story but was wont to see this from the get go. Because I was convinced that the acting would be great, and it didn't disappoint.
