Edge of Heaven (2014)
One Of My Favourite Shows - Even Four Years On!
Despite reading vast amounts of negative views towards this delightfully amusing programme, myself and my family proceed to speak and laugh at the pleasant wit, odd cast of characters (portrayed by skilled actors such as Blake Harrison), and wish that it could hopefully return for a second series.
The unique idea of an eighties themed B&B at the seafront of Margate is certainly one which gave the series a twist, and make it completely different to majority of TV shows aired recently. Personally, I cannot understand the lack of interest and understanding contained in the negative reviews about the show, which consequently means a second series is very unlikely. It is very upsetting that a drama such as, was not interpreted how the producers intended to, and was not viewed as tasteful and witty, which is what I did. Four years from airing, my family still wish for a second series as a pose to the negative backlash it received. However, would a second series ruin the magic expressed in the first one?
Furthermore, Alfie's story of a love triangle between his childhood sweetheart Carly and her best friend Michelle, is realistic aswell as entertaining. This shows how you can still be attracted to somebody despite the emotional turmoil and hurt they have put you through. I also liked the ending, a cliffhanger which contained Blake Harrisons character Alfie fainting after he finally confesses his love for Michelle, has let go of his love for Carly, just as he finds out she is pregnant...
Each character individually stood out due to their contrasting personalities, and it showed how these souls (even though worlds apart), come together to create something as magical as a family, all inside a small B&B - The Edge Of Heaven!
