Hit Man (2023)
Terrible, just awful
Such a disappointment! Slow moving and truly preposterous plot "based on a true story" but with all major facts completely changed (?!).
Dull and uninspired acting, despite Glen Powell's best efforts. Support cast were largely awful, especially the jarringly terrible female lead who we will now actively try to avoid watching in anything in the future.
Kept wondering who the terrible director was, and then recalling it was Richard Linklater... which makes it 10x worse somehow because I expect way more from literally ANY director than what was delivered here.
Worse, in Canada we went to an actual theatre and paid theatre prices to see this mess of a movie, and now I see it was streaming on the Netflix platform in the US.
This movie made us cranky and irritated. Not at all the fun quirky movie outing we had planned for. Save a precious 2 hours of your life and avoid this dreadful waste of time nonsense. I hope that by saving others from making the same mistake it might make our ordeal and waste of an afternoon at least minimally worthwhile.
A Million Little Things (2018)
Schmaltzy and trying way too hard
This is a terrible show. I'm strangely fascinated enough to keep watching although I laugh and shake my head the whole time. It's trying way to hard to be "important" and the earnestness is just way over the top. I am basically watching it as a comedy at this point.
Castle Rock (2018)
Thumbs up
Wonderful acting, great cast, trippy story, intriguing characters. A slow boil with no clear resolution in the end (which is disappointing), but it was a fun ride and stuck with me for quite a while, trying to figure it all out.
Manifest (2018)
First episode
Interesting premise, but not great acting and kind of cheesy production so far. Will probably give it a chance for a couple of episodes more...
