Who Took Johnny (2014)
SEE IT
While I was not impressed with some of the light in which Mrs. Gosch was portrayed, this is an important deep dive into the world of child abduction, trafficking, abuse and murder. It's very difficult to watch. But it's important that we see how and why our own Government colludes with these creatures, offering them support and using their sins against them for power and control.
There is another chapter to this saga which is the Omaha / Franklin coverup so see that documentary as well (the one banned by Discovery) and then you might want to take a look at some of the "culinary" activities going around in Washington, particularly as they regard pizza and ping pongs.
God bless this woman, her husband and son.
Ariel Phenomenon (2022)
Mind-Blowing Topic, Amateur and Disjointed Execution
For those unfamiliar with this subject-specifically to those who have never seen the raw footage of these children (both from the BBC and John Mack), this film has the potentiality to blow people's minds. But for those familiar with ALL of this, and have been waiting for years to finally see this documentary-some may feel that there was a massive overpromise and underdelivered result.
In general, the story is not allowed to tell itself, and director Randall Nickerson starts getting fancy with unnecessary edits, interposed with current interviews, flashbacks, EXTREME close-ups, too much focus on Emily Trim (which feels like another movie altogether), more EXTREME close-up, and loses the viewer's interest-with the most important and salient facts showing up much later into the film (psychic messages pushed into the kid's minds, etc.).
It's almost hard to believe that after all these years, something more effective was not delivered but the truth is that the short segment in The Phenomenon (the 2020 documentary) and the original footage alone, is infinitely more effective than this presentation.
While I'm glad that this was finally released, it's a let down. However, for those unfamiliar with this topic / incident and/or those seeking additional information, it is better than nothing.
The Frugal Gourmet (1983)
Incredible Cooking Show...perhaps the best in American history
Such a shame that Jeff was tried and convicted in the court of public opinion. But his work and life's joy was and is contagious.
I would love to buy these episodes. Whoever controls the rights should release them. And forgive this man for whatever he may have done wrong. God knows, so many of us have made mistakes. But his good overwhelmingly outdoes the bad (if it was even true).
Wonderful man. May the god that I don't believe in, bless him.
Unacknowledged (2017)
Another Trip Down Conspiracy Lane
Unfortunately, Dr. Greer squanders another opportunity to actually land a punch for the disclosure movement by releasing an even worse pseudo-Marxist (free love / free energy baby!), anti-establishment, anti-American, ultra pro-conspiracy (including 9-1- 1 "truther" garbage) semi-documentary featuring the usual suspects of mostly discredited (but not all!) crackpots, scam artists and shysters (Clifford Stone, Richard Doty, Glenn Dennis, etc). And then there is Edgar Mitchell who was pitching John Podesta on a meeting with President Obama, so he could share his Catholic UFO cult conspiracy membership opportunity (from the Wikileaks hack)—he's in this too. And let's not forget Paul Hellyer, who learned everything he knows about UFOs from...um...Philip Corso who even Stanton Friedman thinks is a fraud. Truly giants of rational, scientific inquiry.
Filled with multiple camera angles of Greer's head, blurred, constantly moving and out of focus "secret" documents, self-aggrandizement (and on screen crying) regarding his meetings with top level officials and lots of other stuff that we have all heard before- and one time too many.
It's a giant advert for his next money making scheme, of course. Some free energy crowd funding disclosure deal.
He comes off like a cult leader and even went so far as to call for actual "revolution", of what type, I don't really know. What I do know is that if he was right about all he spews, he would not actually be alive to say it.
He gives us some overview of UFO history (some of which is valuable) but skips the most accurate, credible and salient info (like Ruppelt's statistics from Project Blue Book or the Ariel school incident or Sagan's actual theories on Ancient Aliens or Col. Robert Friend's "experience" or the JFK requests for UFO info, etc).
Instead, it's just a long drawn out conspiracy weaved together that makes little to no sense and presupposes a ridiculous nefarious plot on the part of our Government (and secret within secret groups) - to the point of absurdity. As if we needed to be told by Greer that Governments lie, cover up and pay for things without telling us. Shocker!
Not sure this qualifies as a documentary. It's basically just another pitch for Greer's often self-contradictory wacky ideas. And "please buy his book", so we can get the truth out there.
Is there some truth here? Yes. But not enough and not the right people to have made it worthwhile. Greer is his own worse enemy and I suspect, an easy mark for those who deal in disinformation and misinformation. And he passes the mark on to us with tons of information that is contradictory, confusing (to those trying to make sense of it), with the smell of a nicely lathered brain-wash.
This subject is truly hidden in plain sight but it's not what Greer wishes it was nor is his pitch for a pseudo-science, post capitalist society (where we all work 10 hours a week), a place where I would like to live. And I could really have done without the gratuitous images of starving black children added in for good measure. So unnecessary. As if Africa's problems are linked to UFO disclosure.
The most amusing part of the film is where he basically makes an argument that both Tesla and Nazis may be behind all of this (which of course contradicts...sort of...the rest of his thesis). But when have facts mattered.
Save your brain cells and pass on this one.
P.S. Rosin changed her Von Braun story recently and conveniently added in 3rd world crazies to the mix. Check out the original quotes from years ago. More fabrications to a very sad attempt to enlighten "open minds".
P.P.S. For those that will assume that this review is misinformation, please reach out and contact me. Happy to confirm that I am a real movie goer and not a Government employees. (apparently, someone has already accused me of being a "paid shill".
