Master Gardener (2022)
Wasted potential
Overall a nice watch with great cinematography and a huge but wasted potential.
The whole point of the movie would be to explore the allegory of the garden as a means of explaining concepts of coexistence and political views in a society.
There's so many cool concepts to explore!
For example: Coexistence of plants depending on environment is mentioned, but never explored.
There is one of the best scenes I have seen in a while, where he talks about how long a seed can remain dormant waiting for the right time - this is exactly what happens with political ideas, such a shame it was just a brief mention.
And many more ...
Unfortunately this movie turns into a sort of Taken- type of movie where his past catches up with him and the cliche happens.
In any case, it was a pleasant watch and gave me things to think about for a few hours.
Beau Is Afraid (2023)
Me is afraid for the future of cinema
In my life I have watched probably hundreds of low budget, indie and B movies. Some are terrible, some are excellent, this movie somehow became my worst ever cinema experience.
I do not even know where to begin so I will try to describe how I felt after I left the cinema after 3h+. Incredibly bored, tired and with the kind of confusion and mental haze that comes usually from watching low budget stoner comedies.
I am perplexed as to how this movie entered mainstream cinema and who was insane enough to fund this ?
This movie is the epitome of a tryhard wannabe sophisticated movie with alot of "meaning". I'm convinced the people who liked this movie might be on drugs and/or like to pretend they understood some "hidden" meaning that makes it all worth it.
There is really nothing good about this movie and I'm convinced that 3.5h hours of nonstop nonsense are actually detrimental for the human psyche. Watch at your own risk.
This should be a wake up call for all of Hollywood.
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023)
YIKES
Continuous and no-stop low quality action from the get-go. No time to develop characters build a story line, nothing.
I actually have not seen another Indiana Jones movie so I came with zero expectations and still I was very much disappointed
The movie is 70% action scenes and still it's really boring there's always alot going on to try to distract you from how bad this movie really is but it isn't really fooling anyone.
If you like movies with a swiss cheese type of plot. Characters shallower than a flat pan and the physics of a 5yr old then you'll love it.
P. S all you need to know about this movie is thag at some point ancient Romans take down a JU88 bomber using catapults, like a scene of some off-brand saving private Ryan makeover.
The 15:17 to Paris (2018)
I created an account just to rate this movie
This movie is simply great from many aspecs. It prodives a thought provoking backstory that wonderfully portrays the lives of those people. It also shows how small details from their lives all played a role when the time for them to take action came. The fact that the real people are the actors of this movie simply blew me away. Although acting is slightly off a some points it still seems incredibly genuine as far as emotions go. As expected their chemistry is great too. On the down side, it is a little slow paced sometimes, but still those parts play their role in this movie as they reveal more aspecs of their personality and help create a strong bond between the viewer and the actors.
This movie should be given credit even for the sole fact that the actual people involved participated. If you're planning to see this movie just remember this isn't about the event itself but rather the 4 people that saved the day.
I can't wrap my head around the fact that it only has a 5ish star rating.
