The Ark: A Slow Death Is Worse (2023)
Best Episode so Far
This is the best episode because it introduces a new dimension to the show. The show is begining to move fast and we are begging to grasp the full story of that time period. The character development is also beggining to take shape. Though, there is still some predictability. There are no wild cards or villains to look out for, apart from the end of the show. The audience would like to be at the edge of their seat and take all the hits and punches. A perfect story doesn't cut it.
Therefore, this is still a mid show unless if you can change the dimension as well as pace of character development.
Foundation: Death and the Maiden (2021)
Stiring the pot
The most momentous character in this episode is actually Cleon the 14th. The Empire is founded on the flacky premise of homogenous genetic clones of Cleon the 1st. Having a Cleon with defective genetics establishes a base for more conflict with majored religious movements in the Empire. Cleon 14th also seems to be fundamentally different in how he views and deals with conflict, preferring to defer from the big stick mentality of his predecessors. Even though he might be redemption for the empire, he is highly expendable and is under growing threat from the engines of his own planet.
Salvor Hadon is coming along nicely, but seems to be unprepared and naive in contrast to the character in the books. I hope it's part of character development.
Overall, the series is coming along nicely. However, a logical map to unravell the whole series seems to be growing more complex with each episode. It does seem to be a three dimensional chess played across the space-time continuum.
The religion of the three goddesses seems to be a nice touch. I admit, it seems like a crossbreed between Kemetic Spirit Science and Hyperianism. Fanciful, and downright fantastical, but it plays the part.
Foundation: Barbarians at the Gate (2021)
Diamond Nuggets in the Offing
Down the line, as foundation unravels we will discover that not only is psychohistory inaccurate on individuals choices, but that peoples reaction to stimuli remains constant. Unfortunately, much about human senses was not factored in in the novels by Hari Seldom. Individuals with large and full controlled psionic individuals are therefore able to skew the psychohistorical analysis. The introduction of characters with high deductive reasoning capabilities as well as lower end psionic able personalities changes the parameters of psychohistory in the Series. These individuals are the diamond nuggets we should all be observing as the Series progresses. But so far so good.
Foundation (2021)
A Canvas for Asimovs philosophy
I see alot of negative reviews. That is because most people had it in them that the Foundation series will mirror exactly Isaac's works. Rather I believe Asimov would have loved even a different storyline as long as it communicated the philosophy embedded within the Foundation series. All the nuanced changes and the dramatic twists are welcome, only do justice to Isaac Asimovs spirit and what he wanted to communicate through this stories.
