Craith (2018)
I wish they had turned the lights on!
I struggled a bit through 8 hours that could have easily been 4 or 5. At the end of it i realise they were trying to build the characters, some of which were, to be fair, pretty good. Nothing particularly original , however.
I liked all of the acting - the cast were brilliant and should be congratulated - but as 80% of the series was shot in the dark under a 30W lamp we could not always even see their faces! The director should perhaps go on a course on film lighting?
Overall I didn't feel disappointed I watched the series, but felt dissatisfied
Norfolk (2015)
Dull and pointless
I had little idea what was going on, but I didn't really care either. No redeeming features anywhere to be found, a waste of time.
Stonehearst Asylum (2014)
Good story, nicely told, with great performances and sets
The characters and acting were superb throughout, making this a very enjoyable film. I loved the story (apart from a couple of very minor flaws) and the sets. There was some good suspenseful moments of anticipation, without it becoming a horror film or too unpleasant. All the leads gave great performances. Recommended.
Reflections (2008)
Very wooden and dull acting in a limp, unconvincing tale
Tim Hutton was wooden in his acting and seemed to be not very interested in putting life into this tale. Some of the supporting actors/actresses did a good job, but overall I found it all a waste of time. There were no redeeming features by the end, for me. A thriller it most certainly was not.
Amber Alert (2016)
Great acting from Alaina Huffman
Quite a good story well executed, maybe some minor plot holes, but the reason I am bothering to comment is because of the outstanding, believable acting from Alaina Huffman. I loved the way the film started and gave you immediate sympathy for and empathy with the characters. Worth watching just for that.
