The Invisible Man (2020)
Bruuuh ..Moss... Again.
Really like Leigh wannell as a creator. But this was not his finest hour.
Moss is awful as she is in every role I've seen her play. But she is not helped by a poor script and contradictory storyline which I'm turn makes the movie "lm just looking forward to the next cool thing the invisible Man does" this happens more and more as it continues, I long gave up on actual story and was just invested in the effects.
And of course.. it's Netflix so there is the underbelly of political sentiment involved that they think you're too dumb to notice. It's really tiresome.
Onto the final act and sadly the ending just seems to be a hashed out feministical fantasy... I was almost surprised moss didn't belt out "let's go girls" alá Shania twain as she walked away. A let down when the film was recovering (the ending, not the lack of Shania)
Overall some nice effects, some good jump scares and suspense. B.
War of the Worlds (2019)
Why on earth did they bother.
Dull bland uneventful poorly written, repititive garbage. Just save 8 hours of your life, if you persevere thinking it will get better, it wont and doesn't, dont believe me? Watch for yourself, but youll regret it. So bad it made me angry.
The Stranger (2020)
Rubbish.
Good story spoilt by making it as woke as possible. Nearly every couple was mixed race. When will people get sick of this agenda being pushed down our throats.
The Irishman (2019)
3 and half hours of your life you won't get back
This movie is dreadful. It literally has no redeeming features. De Niro sleep walks through his role. Pacino does what he does again without being remarkable. It's poor script and poorer storyline do nothing to keep the viewer hooked. You are just waiting for something to happen as it drifts from one act into another. A poor poor title to stand aside greats like casino and goodfellas. Avoid at all costs.
So Far: "Game of Thrones" Season 8 (2018)
Dreadful.
Just don't bother. It'll only piss you off. Awful awful awful awful
American Guinea Pig: Bouquet of Guts and Gore (2014)
A horrifying horror film
Errr yeah not much to say really, it's what it says on the tin. Terrible lame acting rescued by good effects and a long sense of dread and despair. I felt sick at times and didn't sit comfortably through the entire thing. If a horror film is meant to horrify then this ticks those boxes, but that's kinda all it does. And you get the feeling that's purely what the makers wanted.
À l'intérieur (2007)
French horror masterclass.
Martyrs is probably my favourite all time movie, so I tend to hold all other horror films by its standards. Inside probably not being anywhere near as cerebral does however smash it out of the park, unrelenting tension and raw brutal violence throughout delivers a mind shattering blast of a film. The perfect length, brilliantly acted and portrayed. It doesn't fail to deliver in any way. Totally recommend.
Dark Crimes (2016)
Dreadful.
Jim carey meanders through this film shackled Into a role it looks like he niether wants or believes in, Charlotte gainsburg does what she does and gets naked, which in itself is uncomfortable on the eyes. The whole thing is laboured, dull and uneventful. It's not even a good concept. Truly one of the worst films I've ever sat through. And I've watched kill list.
