The Prince (2021)
Does No One Know How To Make GOOD Adult Animation Anymore?
So many cartoons where the creators must think the only way to make it "adult" is throw in plenty of swearing and gross-out "humor", and to make the main characters as unlikable as humanly possible. Here we have yet another blatant Family Guy rip off. What is with all these new adult cartoons looking like Family Guy? Except the main characters are based on the Royal Family! I hate this current age of animation. I watched cartoons made for kids in the 1990s that had better adult humor than this. Sad.
Music (2021)
Disgusting and very ableist
I have a so-called "mild" form of autism, so I can clearly tell you this representation of autistic people is just incredibly wrong. But I'm really not surprised because Hollywood has very rarely, if ever, shown people on the spectrum accurately. I'm very afraid viewers will think this is how all autistic people are like, because they rely on Hollywood movies as a source of information and not primarily a source of entertainment. Not that this movie is anywhere near entertaining. It even has scenes that can trigger epilepsy seizures or cause sensory overload in some autistic people. How ironic. AND PLEASE DON'T EVER USE RESTRAINT ON AUTISTIC PEOPLE LIKE WHAT IS SHOWN IN THE MOVIE, AUTISTIC PEOPLE HAVE DIED FROM BEING RESTRAINED THIS WAY.
Unplanned (2019)
This movie is why people shouldn't reproduce
Nothing but scaremongering, pro-life propaganda, and very medically inaccurate. They show fetuses looking like they're at least 8 months inside women who don't even show a baby bump, and the people who work at the abortion clinic are all eEEevil, cold and heartless. The United States runs on nothing but hate and fear, and this movie is proof why so many people should allowed to breed at all. But that's just my opinion. If you don't agree I'm not going to accuse you of being a sheep or biased or whatever, unlike some other people. Real sheep are actually smarter than humans anyway.
Woody Woodpecker (2017)
Walter Lantz must be turning over in his grave.
I don't get it. Why do they keep making movies where they take a classic cartoon character and attempt to make it appeal to kids in the 2000's by adding nothing but fart, burp and poop jokes? It's just disgusting. I can barely understand what Woody is saying or doing because he acts like a sociopath with severe ADHD off their medication. If you want to really enjoy and appreciate Woody Woodpecker, watch the original animated shorts instead.
The Christmas Tree (1991)
A reminder why people don't value actual skill or talent.
There are people out there who are actually very good at drawing cartoons. It's a talent or a gift they've had since early childhood, where they just seem better at drawing cartoon characters than the average kid, and the love and joy they get from their craft can only be described as highly intense. And as they grow up they wish to share their talents with others, and make a career out of doing what they love. But due to a lack of resources, problems with health, ability, or money their dreams fell like just that, only dreams. And then, they see THIS monstrosity of a cartoon with ZERO talent and effort put into it, and it's because it's so horrible that it gets so much attention! This is the human race in a nutshell, ladies and gentlemen! A person like me, whose hopes and dreams of ever being a successful cartoon maker are crushed while, garbage like this gets put out for the world to see! People really don't value talent or skill anymore, after all it's just so much easier to crank out a total mess like this movie. What a stupid world!
Felix the Cat: The Movie (1988)
Poor Felix used all his 9 lives when this came out.
I like Felix the cat. Never mind Mickey Mouse, Felix was really the first cartoon character to actually have a personality. But sadly Felix is one unlucky black cat, and this movie is real proof of it. If really deranged animation is your guilty pleasure, I know it's mine, then by all means watch this because it makes Ren and Stimpy look like Filmation. But if you like animation where the protagonist doesn't laugh at dead people's remains or say "woah" every two seconds in an annoying voice, and the characters' dialogue actually makes sense at least 90% of the time, then better leave this one in the bargain bin. I read that Dreamworks now has the rights to Felix. Maybe they can do better with computer graphics than this movie did.
The Adventures of the American Rabbit (1986)
Never let a card company make a movie.
This was a reminder how most 80's cartoons that weren't by Disney or Don Bluth were just hilariously awful. A lot of things don't get resolved in this movie. Why do we never see or hear from Rob's parents after he leaves? Why didn't Rob turn into the American Rabbit so he could save Panda-Monium when he had the chance? Do the protagonists ever rebuild Panda-Monium? What happened to the Jackals? Why does the Statue of Liberty look human in a world full of talking animals? Maybe it's the Animal-pocalypse, I don't know. Rob Rabbit is a real wimpy character which is understandable because he's basically Clark Kent in rabbit form, but he's just as pathetic as a superhero. There's racism (species-ism?)in the movie in the movie as well because although it's said several times that not all jackals are bad, we never see any good ones at all. I guess 5-year-old kids might enjoy seeing Rob's flashy transformations into the American Rabbit. But then again this movie must have been written by 5-year-old kids.
