The Stranger (2020)
I'm UPSET
I was so invested in this series and although there were so many stupid character movements, like Adam thinking that he could have a better chance of finding his wife than the police could; I kept watching. The last episode literally dropped the whole series to a 4 because it felt so forced and rushed. It didn't even make sense the motivations of the characters.
Why would Adam take it upon himself with a stolen gun to go confront Tripp? The police literally are on the trail already.
Why did Katz try to keep Johanna hostage? It's obvious the jig was up! I guess we could put that one off as temporary insanity.
Why do we have all this side story about the llama, Dante and that random maintenance guy?
Why wouldn't Heidi's daughter tell the cops everything she knew right up front? Your mother died and day before she said she was being blackmailed because of you.
The only part of the story that added up at the end was why Corinne got killed. Everything else was just up in the air, make your own conclusions.
Every episode was a solid 7-8/10 for me until that last episode, I can't understand how anyone would be satisfied with that ending.
The Color of a Woman (2011)
It's lacking femininity
I won't ever be able to explain why I watched this show until the end but it's awful. The only character who made any sense was Chan; all the other characters seem like they have no sense of the world or relationships. Two of those characters are supposed to be ultra educated but they can't see a scheme right in front of their faces. The character that made my skin crawl was Jin Joo, she was so self absorbed and a terrible friend on so many occasions. Who at any point in time would keep a friend that purposely chases after every man you get involved with; the fact that So Ra kept forgiving her was appalling. Jin Joo has so many personal faults and she finds a way to blame it on everyone else but herself, it irritated my soul.
Outlander (2014)
4 Stars for the First 2 Seasons
Currently on Season 4 of this series and I'm literally yelling at the screen. Claire's character is becoming more irritating as they stretch the story onwards. First of all, it was hugely idiotic that she would go back to Frank and leave Jamie to die, like could she have not waited to see if Jamie would make it through the battle before returning; it's not as if the Redcoats were going to find her before then because Jamie literally hid out in a cave near home till he turned himself in. Then she made the decision to go back to the past just to be with Jamie. She very well knew what year it is that she's going to but she gets offended by all the unjust things that happen around her, like you already knew women were treated like crap and that slavery was happening. It seems to me if she dies Jamie would actually live a fulfilling and fruitful life, because she stirs up trouble with her "future knowledge". The way the writers pick and choose when she wants to be virtuous are annoying as hell. Ive only kept watching for the sex scenes cause they are like an HBO after hours porno. Maybe this show should have been a porno. On that note, season 4 will be my last.
Younger (2015)
Invested to be Disappointed
I've been watching from the start and although the story is bit far fetched, it was entertaining. As the years went by, the writing got weaker and weaker till we get to this last season which was the biggest disappointment. For me the story ended a long time ago and the only reason it got a 5 is for the important Social issues it tackled. I wish there was a more diversity in the perspective but having the attention on the issue is plausible enough.
Psycho-Pass (2012)
The Missing Link
If you're on the fence about pursuing this endeavor don't be, it's such a well thought out anime. It's almost as good as Erased, combining action and mystery seamlessly. I am saddened that I didn't get to it until 2018 but better late than never.
