The Mandalorian: Chapter 23: The Spies (2023)
Finally something good
Good Mandalorian action, satisfying death, decent visuals, overall fun time. Finally this show gives us an episode with stakes, good acting from Giancarlo, and a death. I don't know why Disney is so afraid of violence and death in a universe about war and laser swords that cut people in half but u know the kids don't see that anywhere else no no no. This episode introduced human Baskar wearing imperials who need to shot in the neck to kill and can actually take out Mandalorians. The praetorian guards brutally execute big Visla in a rare awesome sacrificial death moment reminiscent of Qui-Gon's death. The epsiode ends with the threat of Gideon destroying the entire Mandalorian fleet with his bombers and looks to set up a pure fun finally. This season is still hot garage however and needs to just be trimmed down to around 6 episodes a season. Episode score 9/10, season score 4/10.
The Mandalorian: Chapter 22: Guns for Hire (2023)
Droid sob story/political mess of an episode
Worthless waste of time episode with zero consequences on whatever the main story of this show even is. The writers have completely lost the plot. Acting and dialogue is akin to cringe Marvel projects for small children with horrid jokes throughout. Who even is this show for anymore? Each episode has some super predictable and unimportant bad guy with the most predictable "twist" ever. Jon needs to go asap. The climax of this episode was literally a random old guy in a jumper threatening to press a big red button that shuts off all the droids on a random planet that Mando should not care about at all. Speaking of Din, what even is his character anymore? He is just an dumb angry brute who hates droids and loves his ridiculous cult. If I was Pedro's agent I would pull him out of this dumpster fire before his reputation takes a hit. This is by far the worst season of any Star Wars show produced and all but confirms my suspicion that the even the Mandalorian is just generic Disney shlock.
The Walking Dead: Rest in Peace (2022)
Rushed and wasted ending
The pacing of the final episode of this 10+ year journey isn't allowed to take its time and the entire Pamela/commonwealth arc is blitzed through. The largest hoard of walkers we have ever seen is obliterated in about 1 minute of screen time with some gasoline and the only ending we get for Pamela is that she is in jail (so boring). There is no high stakes resolution to this arc, Pamela's soldiers just switch sides after shooting innocent people and she disgustingly tries to commit suicide to no avail. What are the chances Lance's walker ends up perfectly there? So dumb. Rosita's death was heartbreaking and the only positive of the finale. No one else of note is killed and you don't ever feel like any other main characters are in real danger. The variant walkers play no real role outside of getting the other walkers into the city and were largely hyped up by the show runner for absolutely nothing. Finally we get to the Rick and Michonne scenes and all the setup for the "dead" universe. These scenes were ruined by a barrage of scenes from past seasons shoved down your throat at lightning speeds with no real rhyme or reason. Overall a pitiful ending to such an important show. The whole last 10 minutes feel likes trailers for upcoming shows and it feels like little care was given to properly ending the main series. 4/10.
Obi-Wan Kenobi: Part IV (2022)
Pointless Contrived Nonsense
Let me just get this out of the way first, Kenobi ferying Leia through the Imperial base under his big coat was so insulting. None of the hundrerds of stromtroopers noticed a super wide, four legged man walking out of the base? They made a point to show the high security at the entrance of the base yet they where to be found when this four legged man waddled by, absolutely ridiculous. The good parts of the epsiode were the acting and cgi but other than that I don't understand any of the charecter's motivations or what the point of telling this story is besides more money for Disney.
Better Call Saul (2015)
This Show is Art
No show has ever given me so much joy on every rewatch, it's just art. Most tv shows lean on suspense and the viewer not nknowing what happens next to keep the viewer interested, but unlike those lesser programs BCS entertains through its masterful storytelling, top notch performances, and brilliant writing that holds up to endless rewatches and scrutiny.
The Walking Dead: Acts of God (2022)
Lance and Maggie steal the show
Lance is such an awesome villan and super intriging. Maggie is finaly becoming fealing like the main charecter besides Daryl and her arc since season 2 has bean wonderful to watch. Not giving this episode a 10 because of the insanely rushed pace of this epispde. A few episodes ago we got a whole Eugene love story epsiode and then all the most important parts feel rushed (Only 40 minute runtime?? For the mid season finale????)
The Book of Boba Fett: Chapter 3: The Streets of Mos Espa (2022)
Everything was awesome but do we really need the biker teens?
Love the world building, Crimson Dawn tease, and rancor moment. The colorful biker gang and short run time drops this episode down a few points. Overall the weakest episode so far, but I am even more excited for the rest of the show after it.
Rick and Morty: Rickmurai Jack (2021)
Anime, Evil Morty, the Citadel! What's not to love?
Title kinda says all you need to know. Emotional, funny, and packed full of perfectly confusing lore.
Rick and Morty: A Rickconvenient Mort (2021)
Wtf. The only episode so far that I cant stand
I have no problem with the climate change commentary this episode was just boring af teen love bs and not funny at all.
The Walking Dead: Splinter (2021)
Princess is an unbelievable bland and horrible character
Imagine Rosita took her place in this episode? Why do they feel the need to add so many characters? I don't care if she was in the comics, she wasn't a good character in them either. The design on the commonwealth troopers is so ugly and hard to belive
The Outer Worlds (2019)
Good game but plagued with false dialogue choices
So many of the skill checks do nothing to affect the outcome of the conversation and it's insulting to the player's intelligence. Why on earth would I speck into any of the dialogue choices when they have no impact on the game? If I pass the lie check, the npc just laughs in my face as if I failed the lie, but I passed. False choices litter this game.
