Star Trek: Voyager: Threshold (1996)
Season 2, Episode 15
5/10
This episode lost its "Worst ST Episode" title
24 April 2021
That's a weird one. Can't say I'm very fond of the salamanders and offsprings part. So yes, there are some gigantic flaws. But, after suffering throught Discovery S3, I have to say that Threshold now doesn't appear all that bad, and I'm gladly giving Disco the Worst ST Episode Award for... well, many ones deserve it. At least, Threshold managed to be entertaining.

Julia Pennyworth!
12 December 2019
I sure hope the writers are going to find a way to bring back Ms Pennyworth: she was just to fun a character to waste it!

Also: there is a nice Gotham vibe going on. Well done!

And Ruby Rose continue a portrayal of Kate that corresponds so well with the character in the comics. Great job!

As for the *lesbian* content that makes haters give abyssmal reviews... Frankly, there is nothing to write home about! There is no more romantic content than on any other *straight* characters shows. So, Batwoman is talking about an ex. Well, straights are doing the same thing, are they not?

Pure blast!
12 December 2019
Sure, there are a lot of characters to handle, but the writers handled the challenge pretty well. This event is so much fun!

The Batwoman & Supergirl team up is especially brilliant. And who can be against Supermen?

Highly enjoyable!

Favourite New Show of the Season
12 December 2019
With about 1/2 of the season done, I can say this show began strongly, and is doing very well. This episode -- NO SPOILERS--, in particular, delt aptly with stuff that was introduced earlier. They don't loose time advancing the story. There are a lot of great moments in that show, very well written scenes, and the actors - the whole cast - are very good at portraying their characters.

This show doesn't deserve the ridiculously bad reviews it got here. That some people don't like it, sure. But 1 star? Come on! Only childish haters are giving that!

Stumptown: Dex, Drugs and Rock & Roll (2019)

Stumptown continues to deliver
9 November 2019
The series continues to build its characters, exploring their past, their relationships, forging their present life. That's all very well done.

Also: homophobes didn't like it (but are okay with murderers. Go figure!). To bad for them!

Batwoman: Pilot (2019)
Season 1, Episode 1

Very promising new show!
14 October 2019
The pilot introduce the characters and the setting quite nicely. The actors are all very capable. Ruby Rose *is* Batwoman.

Don't believe the 1 star ratings written by angry fanboys frustrated because a lesbian is wearing the batcape. Watch it, and judge for yourself.

This show hits the ground running
14 October 2019
The pilot nicely placed the chess pieces on the board, now, the game is starting. Being a fan of Batwoman since her introduction in the 52 comics series, I was very curious to know how they would introduce certain elements, and the team do not disappoint. The acting is on point, the cinematography and the music render perfectly the Gotham atmosphere, and the story is well developped. Certain new shows have a slow beginning, but that's not the case here. I highly recommend it.

Doctor Who: It Takes You Away (2018)
Season 11, Episode 9

Nothing to write home about
10 December 2018
Well, it began interestingly enough: a creepy cabin in the wood. A little horror feel. Some danger, maybe? But then, as half of the episodes this season, it drags... It seems the writers usually don't have enough material for a complete episode. At least, this time, the pace picked up a bit in the second half.

Good points: -Graham, the caracter with the more depth (I credit the actor for that, not the writing); -The Dr and Yaz make a good team.

Poor points: -Having that many companions is a disservice to them all. The showrunner/writers are not able to provide enough stuff for all the characters to feel necessary to the story. The companions end up under developed, as it is the case with the relationship between the Dr and each of them. There is little meaninful moments between them. -I wonder how much experience the writers have writing sci-fi. They rely too much on the screwdriver.

Unholy (2007)
8/10
Judge it by yourself. Don't trust the poor reviews.
14 October 2018
Spoilers free comments: 1) That movie is not your typical horror/ gore fest. It is actually more of a psychological thriller. 2) The story is original, intriguing, and very suspensful. 3) It's more suited for viewers who prefer intelligent stories than for those who rate movies by the number of gallons of blood it features. 4) The cast does a very good job. As always, Adrienne Barbeau is superb. Her acting alone makes this movie worth watching. Also, I must say I was surprised by Nicholas Brandon. He gave a very believable performance here, very far from his Buffy days.

Fun show
27 September 2011
I watched the premiere out of curiosity, and I was surprised to find a show that is both interesting and done in a very tasteful manner. I was worried about the depiction of female characters (for obvious reasons), but they are not depicted as simple sexual objects. On the contrary, these characters are shown as intelligent, independent, and resourceful.

Only two episodes aired to this day, but the potential for character development is there. The show manages to have some social and political themes, plus there is a bit of mystery, music, and humour.

The various actresses and actors (all people I didn't know) do a good job. I especially like Amber Heard, as Maureen (the main female character), Leah Renee Cudmore, and guest star Sean Maher.

Conclusion: it is a pretty decent show (and it changes from all the procedurals who stick to their unmovable, predictable, recipe).

Warehouse 13 (2009–2014)
10/10
Fun, intelligent series
22 July 2011
First of all, I've read here comments comparing Warehouse 13 to other shows (The X-Files, for example). I've seen a lot of sci-fi/fantasy, and, in my opinion, Warehouse 13 is quite original.

Both main characters, agents Lattimer and Bering, are different and complement each other very well. Lattimer is as funny and sweet as Bering is by-the-book and a total professional. That makes for an interesting duo, especially given the nice, brother and sister relationship that develops between them. Both are also very well played by Eddie McClintock and Joanne Kelly. The second season introduces recurring character H.G. Wells (perfectly portrayed by Jaime Murray), a great and mysterious character.

I highly recommend it for fans whom like a blending of the genres. The episodes contain a nice, well-done blend of comedy, drama, adventure, and sci-fi. The stories are typically well-written and allow for fun, entertaining, and suspenseful artifact chasing, but not at the expense of character development. There are no cardboard characters here.

Also worth of mention: W13 is not the typical "all-boys club with one bombshell" series. Male and female characters are equally interesting.

Last, but not least, W13 is an intelligent series. There are, for example, historical and literary mentions, which is frankly quite appealing.

Bottom line: Warehouse 13 is fun and smart.

A Must See!
15 February 2006
"Imagine Me & You" is everything a romantic comedy should be: charming, original, containing funny, delightful scenes, based on a good story (with no gigantic Hollywood clichés), and played by a great cast. The characters, main and secondary, are interesting.

I cannot say enough good things about the cast. Piper Perabo and Lena Headey are both excellent. And the same is true for the other members of the cast (Tony Head, Matthew Goode, etc).

The fact that there is a lesbian relationship made the movie quite interesting to me. But, really, I would highly recommend it to any people (straight or gay) who appreciate a feel-good, touching (but not sappy)well-done romantic comedy.
