The Iron Claw (2023)

Very Good Movie!

"Iron Claw" is a very entertaining movie! I highly suggest that you see this movie. It's got a great historical depiction of how wrestling got its start back in the '70s and '80s. Zach Efron should've gotten more acclaim for his role in this movie. He definitely altered his body for the sake of this movie! This movie harkens back to the days of the 70s and 80s where wrestling was a popular regional "sport" and young kids such as myself watched every Saturday when there was nothing else on TV especially in the middle of winter! I am pretty sure you will enjoy this movie. This is currently the best movie playing on HBO-Max, which has in my opinion had a very lackluster roster of movies lately. Enjoy!

About My Father (2023)

Just in time for Father's Day!

"About My Father" is an entertaining movie! It is a perfect light comedic movie to watch in the summertime when things have slowed down and there's not much going on! This is similar to the movies that the Farrelly brothers made back in the day. Whoever did the casting did a great job starting with Sebastian Maniscalco one of the best standup comedians in the biz and of course all-time great actor, Robert De Niro. One weird casting note about this movie is it appears that the Mom Kim Cattrall doesn't seem much older than the daughter Leslie Bibb, that part to me was a little bit unbelievable where it seems like the daughter looked almost as old as the mother, but kudos to Kim Cattrall for looking great in this movie! Am I OK? (2022)

This Movie is Not OK!

I hate to say it but the movies that HBO-Max is offering to their subscribers, such as me are lackluster! I gave this movie a watch, and I have to say it was very underwhelming, very slow moving, somewhat depressing and some of the casting was bizarre! Such as the boyfriend of Sonoya Mizuno was completely unbelievable, and the casting of the love interest for Dakota Johnson, the massage girl, Kiersey Clemons, was also unbelievable. Whoever did the casting for this movie did a terrible job! The premise of this movie is also underwhelming. In fact you wonder how does Dakota Johnson afford her apartment and her lifestyle with her modest job. Overall I give this movie a 4!

Elvis (2022)

Elvis-Best Picture of 2022

I was blown away by the Elvis movie! I've always loved rock 'n' roll music, but Elvis was definitely before my time. This is one of the best biographical movies you'll ever see. I highly recommend watching it, especially before the Oscars take place on March 12th when I'm sure Elvis will win some major awards. Austin Butler's portrayal of Elvis is perfect. He deserves the Oscar for Best Actor. Tom Hanks was amazing as Colonel Parker. I highly recommend you see this movie, I gave it my highest rating! It is very sad that Lisa Marie Presley died shortly after Elvis won some major awards at the 2023 Golden Globe Awards.... If you happen to like Elvis's music you can go to XM Sirius Radio which has a dedicated channel for Elvis. Take care and enjoy the movie!

Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood (2019)

Great Movie, Great Cast!

I originally reviewed "Once Upon A Time In Hollywood" when it first came out back in 2019. This movie has one of the best casts of all time! When you have a movie featuring Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, Al Pacino, Bruce Dern, and many others; you have the makings of a great movie! On a sidenote, recent Golden Globe winner, Austin Butler from "Elvis" plays a bad guy in this movie, which is highly surprising when you look back at this movie!

My only problem with this movie is that it is too long, certain scenes, especially the Western movie set scene should've been edited down by Quentin Tarantino to make this a more palatable 2 hour movie!

Elvis & Nixon (2016)

Very Enjoyable Movie!

This is a very enjoyable movie that captures the somewhat innocent time of the 1970's when Elvis was King and Nixon was President!

I highly recommend this movie and it is definitely better than most of the movies that are out in the theaters and streaming online now!

The performances by Michael Shannon as Elvis and Kevin Spacey as Richard Nixon are fantastic!

Also note that Tom Hanks son Collin is in the movie playing one of Nixon's top advisors!

All the scenery, the costumes, the backdrops the props even the Oval Office are perfectly done and this movie certainly evokes the era of the 1970's...

England Is Mine (2017)

Should've been a much better film!

I was looking forward to watching this movie on one of my favorite all time bands the Smiths featuring the great Morrissey! But unfortunately there's hardly any music in this movie, either being played by the band in the studio or live in concert! What a poor choice by these movie makers! While the back stories on the main characters are very interesting, this film could've used a lot more music in it!

I highly recommend you see this movie!

It is one of the most enjoyable movies I've seen in a long time!

I feel that you get a true insight into Nicholas Cage's real life personality!

One of the best movies of the year!

Great cast with tons of great performances!

Definitely a lot of humor here!

This is a much more entertaining film than "Being John Malkovich"!

Hustle (2022)

If you like basketball and if you like Adam Sandler see this movie!

This movie is excellent if you like basketball and if you like Adam Sandler I highly recommend you see this movie! I have yet to meet anybody that did not enjoy this movie! No matter what I guarantee you will enjoy this film! Enjoy!

The Many Saints of Newark (2021)

If you are a Sopranos fan this movie is worthwhile

While it's been quite a while since The Sopranos was a popular show this prequel to The Sopranos is definitely worth watching, for fans of the classic show and especially good viewing in the summertime when things are a little slower....

There are some great performances here including the actor that played the young Tony Soprano, the actor who played Dickie Moltisanti, Vera Farmiga who played Tony Sopranos mother and of course one of the last performances ever by the great Ray Liotta!

The Batman (2022)

Very Disappointing!

I have watched every Batman movie that has come out since the first reboot came out with Jack Nicholson back in 1989, which by the way was a fantastic movie on many levels! Warner Brothers, please do not make any more Batman movies! Enough is enough, these movies are trash! There is no need to see any more thoughts on Batman on the big screen! Hollywood, try to come up with something original or don't bother at all, this movie was unwatchable! I had to fast forward to the end just to get this over with! This movie had no interesting qualities to it, no redeeming value to it, enough is enough!

House of Gucci (2021)

Worth Seeing!

The House of Gucci is a worthwhile movie, I feel it could've been better if it was not so long. I also would have preferred the casting of someone different in the Lady Gaga role, perhaps Margot Robbie or Jennifer Lawrence; and Adam Driver to me was an odd choice for the lead actor! But the supporting actors such as Al Pacino and Jeremy Irons were excellent! And the transformation of Jared Leto should have earned him an Oscar nomination for sure!

Enjoy this interesting look at the Gucci Family history!

The Beatles: Get Back - The Rooftop Concert (2022)

Outstanding Footage and Music!

As a lifelong Beatles fan this is a dream come true to see old pictures from the 1970s come to life in great cinema quality with all the back stories on how the famous "Beatles Rooftop Concert" came to be! It is truly amazing that 53 years later the songs still sound great and that the Beatles still look cool! To me this was by far the best part of the Peter Jackson 7 hours "Get Back" footage, this final rooftop video concert is what really matters! Just one little tidbit of information, this "Beatles Rooftop Concert" was filmed in London, England at 12:30pm on Thursday, January 30, 1969 the weather that day was 45°F and cold! -Brad Pyner.

Don't Look Up (2021)

A Very Entertaining Movie!

I usually do not see science-type movies but this one was hard to resist! This is one of the better casts you'll ever see in a movie, Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence should've been nominated for Oscars for leading actor roles! Meryl Streep and Jonah Hill should've been nominated for Oscar supporting actor roles!

Once again I felt this movie was a little bit too long, it could've been edited to make it a little bit easier to watch!

This movie is definitely underrated, I highly suggest everyone see it and make sure you watch through all of the ending credits!

Licorice Pizza (2021)

I Was Expecting More!

As a person who grew up in the 1970's I was excited to see this movie, but I was disappointed! This movie was not nearly as good as the Quentin Tarantino movie with Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt "Once Upon A Time in Hollywood", that movie trumps this movie.... There are some great old songs in this movie, you can download the soundtrack for free on YouTube! The scene with Bradley Cooper was entertaining, they should've shown more of that, and the scene with Sean Penn was kind of silly in my opinion! This movie was also too long, I never fall asleep in movies but I found myself falling asleep in this one! Overall I give this movie a 6 out of 10....

The Marksmam is a very entertaining movie! Liam Neeson plays an extremely likable character one that you are pulling for right from the start! The same goes for the boy that he is protecting! I feel that I also learned about how things work on the Arizona-Mexico border which I also felt was worthwhile! This movie is good and there is definitely some action in there too!
